Bug? The walls holding back the creeper from the right side of the map are on the void. It would take a very long time for the creeper on the right to build up to the point of breaking them.

The creep can travel across a void in the digitalis, it does not need to exceed 500 to cross. The Wall will stop the creep within the digitalis from spreading acorss but will not stop the digitalis itself. I think this is correct?
Walls are Digi-proof, as far as I recall.

Best way to get this effect is using terrain override crpl command to make terrain one of terrain heights 2000
