Based on a painting by Josef Albers, 1941. The 140% is the strength of the creeper / the hardness of the game
Hey John
Nice concept, just enjoyed the first map. Just noticed that your time on the 20% map is just 15 seconds different to your time on the 140% map.
I often find when harder versions of a map are released that a few players get better scores as they have worked out the mechanics of the map. Practice also helps! Just an observation, nothing against harder or varying difficulty of maps.
I like how you have made a map that forces you to take to the air, I avoid bombers and strafers 99% of the time.
I'm still learning to use Sprayers to distribute what precious little AC there is on most maps.
On the other hand, there's this. Where it's a matter of patience that determines if I get a Void spill. And I could certainly achieve conversion density if I left it for a while.
Excuse me... (Maniacal laughter, "You think you've stopped me?" "MORE POWER!" "Ah, the sweetness of glorious, victorious, omnivorous revenge...") ... Thank you. As I was saying, it's nice to have spare AC.
With that said, is there anything significantly different about the easier settings other than more tech and less Creeper?
I guess I really liked how the mechanics of the map work, how there is a direction or procedure of how to get around the map. So, building the first one I realized it may be hard enough for a lot of players as it was, but plenty easy for me or anyone else that played it more than once because of understanding the map - so the idea of making a series that get progressively harder through a calculable increase of creeper, lack of tech, and forced initial placement could be fun.
I feel kind of bad spamming the community with a bunch of the same map all at once, but hope each one is different enough to continue to be interesting. I am hoping to go up to 200% (also maybe make PAC revision), but I need to start getting creative as I only want to use the normal controls (no crpl)...
