Think all over the place.
I was fiddling with the DMD, and found a map large and void-heavy enough that a Guppy rush to secure Ore was a viable strategy. Attempts to recreate the feel of that map eventually resulted in this.
Interesting but very complicated game (at least for me).
Complicated logistics and very nervous... ;)
Will be by my opinion much more interesting with "relay".
I agree that I missed the relay. I also completely ignored the ore islands on my play through.
I specifically omitted the Relay. I was aiming for a Guppy-based map, with aircraft flying every which way. Having a Relay tech to provide a packet bridge would rather defeat this purpose.
Is this a concept worth pursuing, or one to consign to the "eternal draft" pile?
Limited number (3-4 pcs) of "relay" will not crash Your "concept". ;)
P.S. I tested Your map with 4 "relays" and it also was not too easy and needed "guppy&relay logistics"...
