Micro-Rifts were instrumental to ground operations against the Creeper, but since space-based craft do not require standard Packets, they became obsolete until a ship was designed to house one, essentially extending the range of an Energy Mine by using the Rift distortion to cast the energy further than normally allowed.
Some more defense and maybe a good ship then
This is a tanker/relay. In the map Decagon recently uploaded, this was precisely in theme and balanced.
