This vessel was discovered during a GalCorp expedition into Redacted Space. The Legate is a general, and this is thier ship. Not the most damage inducing, but still iconic for Legatus and usually that's good enough in a time of general peace. We thought this was the first discovery, but it seems the Eclipse mercenarys were the first to find Legate class vessels. That's why they're so effective.
