Title: Exchange save folder - not always hashing
Post by: jaworeq on September 21, 2016, 01:36:04 PM
The same map, 2 sets of saves, not cross-accessible.
Not sure how I got into that state. I played this mission 3h ago, created save "s1", gave up. Now I turned the game back on, figured my save was useless, so started from scratch. At this point, I didnt see my previous save. Created saves s2, s3, s4.
When I came back to main menu, I could only see s1 again.

In the saves folder, folders "47" and the last one contain saves for this map.

Ugh... will I ever get these exchange directory issues all nailed down.
The problem was triggered when you loaded a previous save from the exchange grid panel.  That wasn't passing along the exchange map ID, so the game reverted to using the map hash, rather than the map ID (which was 47 in this case).

Once upon a time I made the exchange directories use the map ID rather than the map hash.  Simple change I thought that would make it much easier to find the saves for a give map.  That was true.  It was a simple change and it does make it easier to find maps on disk.  What I didn't count on were the no less than 4 major bugs that small change caused.  Let's hope this is the last.
