This shouldn't take too long, but the beginning can be laggy, unless you have a really good computer to handle all of the projectiles fired by your cannons and mortars.

The cannons and mortars are not the issue here. The issue is the hundreds of particles made by the totems.
To make it worse, I cant double click the stack of totems to disable them because you stacked the reactors with them too and I can only select reactors.
It takes about 5-10 minutes for me to get 30 seconds into the game.
My solution was to pause, then spam click/ ctrl-X until I could get a Totem, then disarm/disable all with ctrl-O. Or to blow up the connections to it, although you have to wait until the Totems run down afterward.
Alternatively, sacrifice all Reactors excepting the ones you can shift-click out of a select-all, and rebuild on some of the AC Emitters PZs. You don't need a lot of power to win, just some Shields and a lot of Nullifiers.
The amount of Aether you have drags this into Singularity-only map territory.
