Very easy! Land CN, take energy pack, then build relays (enough time!).  :)

I was stuck at first because of not having the beam and I never use shields but then I remembered that the shields will prevent a spore from landing and you didn't over due it with spores so a few shields worked without them being overwhelmed.

I did it without beam or shields (that's funny, I don't ever use them either).  I just flooded my area with AC, had plenty of cannons, and rebuilt reactors as they got destroyed.

BTW, best thing is to build 10 reactors at the start, starts you off with the best energy equation.

My first thought was to flood the area with AC also but I hate rebuilding reactors so worked out the other method instead,
