This isn't fair is it. Why does the Creeper have the best units? Good Luck #Sorrontis #CRPL #RampingSpores #Emitters #Digitalis #Runners #AVerySpecialEmitter #SeeForumsForHints
I promised hints, so here they are:
Spoiler
Secure the edge before touching the center emitter. I'm not joking.
Spoiler
The center emitter can first be damaged by Beams & nullifiers. Then, it switches to Nullifers & Snipers. And finally, for the finale, only snipers.
Spoiler
The center emitter gets more powerful as you damage it. It's healing speeds up, and gets special health boosts at certain levels of damage.
Spoiler
It also gets new attack modes, more powerful attacks, more frequent attacks. It's just nasty.
Spoiler
Beware the chainsaw.
Spoiler
Do NOT build a centralized base, you'll figure out why.
Spoiler
Guppies can be your friend if you know how to use them.
Spoiler
Be ready to finish the map without a forge, it can get destroyed. It has for me.
Spoiler
Be ready to finish the map without a CN, it can be destroyed. It has for me.
Spoiler
Lowering the terrain around the void space down to 1 or 2 will save lives.
Spoiler
Anti-creeper is a god send, just splatter it everywhere as thick as possible.
I think that's good for now.
I hope you enjoy this map. The CRPL debugging took days. 8) Mostly, I had to replay the map at least 10x (with 40-50 minute playtimes.). I'm glad its done. ;D
Congratulations to Gambit to be the first one to finish (try?) the map. Here's you're prize, a kiss: :-*
... or ... maybe you'd prefer a picture of a cute dog.
Alright, can someone tell me how two of you got ~5min times? Did I mess up my code somehow?
I have no idea on the 5 min.
I am at 20 min and had just destroyed all of my spores. I didn't save. I can only conclude that you are indeed the bigest badest nastiest ass in the entire world! In fact lets include all of the unknown alien races in this as well, your the bigest ass in the entire galaxy! Darth vadar is just a nice guy with problems next to you! ;)
BTW Does your cute dog have some sort of backpack on with a radio antena sticking out of the top?

Nah, it's his harness & leash. Otherwise, he'd escape. Although, I like the idea of him being a comms officer :P
I found this surprisingly straightforward. Then again, you + map = paranoia, so a PZ Forge and huge overbuilding made sure I was ready before touching the central structure.
A note on the ramping spores: I could pacify the entire perimeter before the Spores became a problem, so I wonder if they are even firing for people better at this than I am.

I'm still not understanding this PZ forge. Is this a joke I'm not getting ??? I don't think I was trying to make this map a paranoia map (next one though should be interesting). It was a thought experiment on how nasty an emitter I could create.
For extra points, try destroying the center emitter before attacking the edge :P
Now I know how, your challenge wouldn't be too bad. A Reactor carpet may be in order. But knowing what to build...
No, it's just that waiting for a PZ for a Forge allows the Forge to work much faster at Aether extraction.
I'm not suggesting a paranoia map, just a paranoia mapmaker.
Evil suggestion:
Spoiler
A structure which gives free PZ reactors when Collectors are built near it (replace)...
...until a certain cap, when it becomes evil.
As do the reactors.
And collectors are now converted to evil reactors.
Relays become evil and start putting Creeper under other units.
Therefore you must do a Guppy-based assault in the middle of what used to be a huge power farm.
Better hope you built Collectors instead of Relays over the rest of your network.
The PZs are lost when the Reactor is destroyed, nice try there...
And finally, I expected a stage where you either laid Digi, or <can't recall, but it was obvious at the time, I'll edit it in if I remember it>.
WOW! I finished this non-stop game! :)
First time so evil and unpredictable enemy! Now I know how, but on the way change tactics is very big stress! :)
C 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) L GAME!
Thank You for good work! 10/10!
P.S. Dog is very nice! :) I also have, but 3 Deutsche Drathaars.
Came back for a second go wiser and older! Def a level that has to be played once or twice badly before beating it.
My tips
Spoiler
Put your forge in a corner, less likely to be destroyed when it all goes haywire.
Do not set the central unit off until you are all over the map, have a carpet of AC, power sorted and a ring of mortors ready.
At the end the saw goes freestyle all over the map. Prebuild loads of snipers and it wont last long enought o do any damage. I had about 50 snipers ready for it and it lasted 10 secs.
On the forge PZ thing, is that a thing? I thought aether production was determined by the totems, not by the forge.

You might have noticed, I don't use standard emitters and spore towers anymore. ;) That's on purpose :D
The forge does not have anything special on it when you put it on a PZ. Trust me, I tried once.
So did I, I thought...
The wiki says it doesn't do anything :)
But alas, I'm working on my next map. :-X
I wonder, what is the scale of the units? Is a CN better measured in cm or km? The terrain feels like the structures are between 3 and 10m across, but the Creeper would have to be a very compressible liquid in that case.
I have a feeling the creeper is like molasses or something, it moves so slowly.
Search "molasses flood". It moves quite slowly in small quantities, or near a wall, but the bit next to that moves a little faster... until a wave swallows everything in its path.
I would go for a compressible liquid. That explains how it can move so slowly, and also the terrain behaviour. It only compresses when it's piled up.
Still, even at 3m, the Pulse Cannons would be impressive, and the Berthas would be a sight. The 7m dome of a CN would be impressive.
Was it ever stated what the "ore" is? (And why was it yellow and finite in CW2, but blue and unlimited in CW3?)

Virgil! We need an explanation!
I know well of the molasses flood. I had to study it and other similar incidents.
Considering how it goes into a planet, it must be large. Just the Story section of it is a giveaway there.
The ore could be finite in CW2 and infinite in CW3 because the Ore Mine is much more efficient in keeping the ore deposit together. Change in the color could be just tarnishing. Skars was asleep for quite some time (billions of years!).
Wow dude, I just came across this map - AMAZING job with it! It's still a CW3-map for the most part and the units aren't all that bizarre (considering it's a Sorrontis map). The ending is spectacular.
I let the entire map get drenched in AC at least 50-deep all over before trying anything fancy. Didn't read the spoilers beforehand, but I got lucky when the thing went... as someone else said... "Haywire".
Absolutely fun map! Hope you're having loads of fun making maps in Particle Accelerator Wars or w/e it is. ::)
