Title: CW3 2.12 crashes on Linux
Post by: stdout on February 29, 2016, 05:45:22 PM
Today I updated my CW3 game to the new 2.12 release. The game plays fine but when I went to close the game, it crashed. I'm attaching the output of the crash. It doesn't affect game play since this seems to happens only on exit.

Are you on the steam or non steam version (non-steam I'm guessing).  That's 'good' I suppose since I have a report of a crash of the linux steam version.  If there are issues with the non-steam version that at least eliminates things like the steam overlay, steam APIs, etc.  Still have no idea what the problem is since I just click "compile" in Unity, but eliminating things is a first start.

What specific distro are you running?

And one quick thing to try....
Run the game with this command line option and see if it makes any difference:
-force-gfx-direct

This is indeed the non-steam version.  I'm running Fedora 20 x86_64.

But now I can't even replicate the crash any more. I've tried closing out the game every way I can think and it always nicely and tidily closes down as it should. I'll keep an eye on it and if it re-occurs I'll try to find a set of steps that reliably reproduce this problem.
