No need to apologise, a fun map with some challenge.

A hint for when you get stuck:
Spoiler
[/
Float the command note to nullify the no-fly-zone to the west, then it is possible to conquer the whole western side.

RnR, you crazy fool! That's an interesting time. I guess I'll have to make it harder next time.

You gave me AoA. I used them efficiently. Expect much faster (sub 20 mins probably) if people use RealAndy's trick to its full potential.

What is RealAndy's trick? I'm still relatively new to all this.

To win the west (as he says above). It works, knocked a five minutes off my time but didn't manage to beat 20mins which I was aiming for. It's difficult to manage battles on three fronts and keep energy supplies up.

I did not even notice that. That's how I beat the map, yet, my time is still 1h+ ... must be doing something wrong :) Were you able to defeat the 2k emitter before it leaves it's walls?

Nice map, great battle on many fronts at the same time. RrRs time is excellent and will be very tough to beat let alone trying to do a sub 20 min. I am certainly going to have a replay or two to try to get close, really fun map.

Sorrontis,
Spoiler
once you take the spore tower on the west, use a relay plus the forge singularity weapon to take the bertha tech. Once you have that, you can use berthas on the two PZs on the southwest and you're on your way.

I never saw it that way. that's beautiful. thanks! I'll have to remake the map with more challenge :)

I beat the the 2k emitter with five walls standing.

i just replayed and got close to the 20 min mark but no cigar.

Spoiler
Bridging across to the left is essential but if you go to early you cannot advance North at the same time

really well balanced map as you can attack in multiple directions at the same time making power a tricky thing to balance.

The challenge is on, sub 20 mins anyone?? -Alter Old excluded ;) Perhaps 15 min?

I have a feeling that's key to beating it quick. if the creeper escapes, its almost impossible to push out.

Beating 15 minutes will be hard - too many things to optimise. Beating 19 min was hard enough, but AlterOld can probably do it.

You two are making me feel downright useless, and I'm currently #3 with nearly twice the time of RrR.

I can't imagine how you're taking the bertha in such a short time. I'm at 11 minutes to the bertha and I can't see how to get there faster. Are you upgrading build speed before taking bertha?

Berthas? I only just managed to build my berthas before I completed the mission. They didn't have time to fire.

I actually messed up slightly - I could have had them online a several minutes earlier and they would have helped getting down towards the 15min target.

Without the berthas, how are you getting up to the mortar tech? Obviously, I'm doing this very different from you guys...

I just marched up with perhaps 8 canons and collected the mortar tech & AoA. A shield comes in handy.

Nicely done RrR and yes I think only Alter could beat15 mins.

I suspect we took very similar routes to our times. I also marched up with about 8 blasters whilst moving left. I used 2 AOOs to take out the top left and one to bridge across to the middle left (island below the AC island). Once I got the terp I immediately started to attack bottom right with blasters and ultimately a sprayer.

The key for most maps for me is to just upgrade power, everything else is a luxury and until my power stays green I upgrade nothing else. (small, sub 5min maps are often an exception)

You can do the bottom right using guppies as soon as you get that tech. Use strafers to keep the digitalis clear.

I think that's the sign of some of the best maps here, when there's no single obvious way to do it and thinking of oddities can help, although there's still the challenge of working out which way is most feasible energy-wise.

So an excellent map that ticks all the boxes, might have to try it again a few times.

Congratz to those of you who did it under 20 mins! Not sure if I have the perseverance to give it another shot.

Ok so umm, it would seem I did persevere and managed a below 20 min score.
As always though Alter Old, you amaze us!

All this talk about floating the CN to take the west, but how are you supposed to keep power on the middle line if you're floating the CN? There's no connection and no way to keep power there, you only get the reserves in the guns.
