Spots! Spots everewhere! Space is at a premium and energy management is essential. The concept of the map is simple but allows multiple strategies. It is not so easy to rush. The map turned out to be more difficult to beat than anticipated, but still relatively easy and fun.
Great map, obviously very well thought out with some well timed spores. I like the way the map has multiple options for how to beat it, very re-playable.
Thanks.
The spots/islands were initially randomly placed, and then adjusted so there were places for nullifiers and energy delivery, and and so there were some interesting trade-offs for relays/beams/reactors
There are many choices:
Spoiler
- Go for totem and then build a forge, or go straight for the inhibitor
- Use aether for upgrading energy, weapons range, or packet speed
- Take out the spore towers or waste energy and space on beams
- Use a guppies for the easy targets or build relays to them
- Use PZ for relays or beams
Also, while playing I found out that losing something to spores wasn't fatal but really annoying because cleaning up the creeper usually requires use of terps due to height differences. I'm not a big fan of digitalis but here it gave an interesting trade-off: leave it be, or gain a PZ but waste time cleaning up the overflowing creeper in the void.
I've played it a few times and I'm not sure what the best strategy is.
You can completely ignore every emitter on this map. Don't touch them, they won't touch you. Kill the spores and go for the nullifier.
A previous poster griped about cleanup after a spore gets through--simply build a blaster. Land it on the contaminated spot and it will clean it right up even if it has no supply connection.

Lol - That is the author!
Thanks for the map, it was much more interesting, than it seems at first sight. I properly studied it (thanks to the cheater oye) and, in my opinion, achieved the greatest possible honest result. I will a little take rest and double-check, whether so it. I should save 2.3 seconds to beat the cheater : ).
Thanks Alter. I'm always amazed by your scores.
My score reflects how bad I am at this game, but that doesn't stop me from trying :-)
