NoobSauce and Aurzel have been kind enough to setup and contribute to a wikia page for KC and CW.
http://knucklecracker.wikia.com/wiki/Knuckle_Cracker_Wiki
I don't own this page, everyone does. So contribute, edit, and use to your hearts content. I've just updated the turrets page with some stats for each weapon that you may find interesting.
I made two pages. One for The Creeper and one for Odin City. I forgot to make an account before doing so. :-[
you can always make an account and save the page without editing anything, hopefully that'll save your name to it
I've added some information for the "Information Needed on the main page, and added 'Blaster' category and some info for collector. I've added a mark wherever i've added info so you know it's mine ;).
@virgilw: I have some questions about game mechanics:
How much energy (no upgrades) does a green square that a collector makes produce?
How much energy (no upgraded) does a reactor produce?
How many squares are the connections between:
* Collectors and anything
* Relays and Relays
* Blasters and (? -- I think they can connect to anything, but it might just be that they can connect to collectors and bridge gaps in between them?)
And signing your edits in the wiki is bad and unnecessary -- if we want to know who said what, there's always the page history.
noob's right, we want this to feel like a group effort, not a bunch of individuals :D
Ok, well right now if anyone could help me making wiki pages for each planet, i'd be thankful.

I'll try to get these filled in tomorrow....
Thanks Virgil.
And, personally, I think if we're gonna have each planet on its own page, we're gonna need an in-depth strategy guide for each planet.
I've just completed the Cetus and Ara planet pages.
i'm saying it's better to get a quick strategy for each then we can go back and go indepth
That's one of the things Wikia recommends -- starting new pages with a little bit of content so that other users can just add content little by little and make full articles.
I agree... I'm so busy that it is much easier for me to stop by on a page that already exists and fill in some technical details, rather than think about creating a page to start with.
yep, thats the idea behind it, soon we'll have a bustling wiki capable of answering most questions people ask about gameplay, it'll certainly cut down on new threads and questions about maps :P
I need someone to finish Pavo and the rest, i've just finished the Vela Wiki Page, and the Level.
I also put down Knuckle Cracker on wikipedia under a list of Indie Devs and Creeper World in a list of Games.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_indie_game_developers <- added you to a list here.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_websites <- added you to a list here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knuckle_Cracker <- needs to be made.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creeper_World <- needs to be made.
It seems the wiki will not allow upload of .png image files?
use jpeg, that works and it's fast

I use png for the reason it is much smaller and faster than jpg. and royalty-free as opposed to .gif.
I always thought jpg files were smaller than png files. I had a 500kb png file, and i converted it to a jpg, and it was about 80-150 kb big.

Hmmm.... I always thought .png were best for web-based images since they were superior to .gif which was smallest. Now you had me go and look and I can't find a good comparison on the web. SO what I'll do is to create three screengrabs and see. I may change what I do.
For information here is the .png FAQ (http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/pngintro.html).
Update:
Wow, I took screenshots of the Creeper World Home (http://i49.tinypic.com/ornx2r.jpg) screen using Sprint32 and this is the results:
.png: 693KB
.gif: 538KB
.jpg: 124KB
.bmp: 5,189KB
Guess I'll change the default way I take screenshots....
Jpgs are better for some things, and pngs are better for others. Pngs would probably be best for screen shots of Creeper World if the backgrounds of the maps were a solid color, but since the backgrounds of the maps are usually detailed textures, jpgs are more suitable.
Epic Fail... ;)
Sorry couldn't help it...
What part of "don't sign your gorramn edits" is unclear to you? Adding feldercarbty information that doesn't even exist and then bragging that you made it up yourself does not count as "contributing"!
edit: wtf does feldercarbty mean. I prefer Firefly.
Here's the snapshot program i use. My dad made it ;)

Shouldn't the quality of the compression mess with the size? that PNG might be higher encoded, but I don't know, just guessing.
Also, I thought everybody just used Print Screen!
i just print screen, copy to paint and save as jpeg

Yes, the program used to capture the image does make a difference. But that opens up a can of worms (maybe this entire portion of the thread can be split off the wiki thread?).
I use ScreenPrint32 because I can set it to capture an area (like the CW window) and save it to disk with a number. SO I can simply press Prt-Sc as many times as I want and I get a series of images I don't need to edit before uploading. Saves the steps of going through Paint or something esle to save the images.
I'm currently having ALOT of difficulty with a forum that i've made for strategy guides on the wiki page.
What i'm trying to do is removing the
http://knucklecracker.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Custom_Maps_Guides
page that I have moved after making a page called Pla...
Let me start again.
It's kind of confusing, but i've made a forum called planet list and I have accidently made it in the Strategy Guides Page, instead of the Planet Guides Page.
So I tried deleting it, but I couldn't figure out how, so I clicked "Move" and I could only change the name, so I changed it to "Custom Map Guides".
Then I went to the Planet Guides page and tried creating the forum called Planet List, but it still exists where the Custom Map Guides is.
So right now I cant actually delete the planet list forum, so I think I need an admin to fix it.
I'll delete the forum. If you need it back suddenly, holler and I can undelete it.
Ok, Thanks.
I noticed you tried to drop a chatbox on a page... I think you might need to go over the instructions again, it says something about putting it in /ip$ or something.
Yeah, i'm still trying to do it >:(.

I've just tried adding planet list to the forum Strategy Guides > Planet Guides, but it adds the planet list page in the Strategy Guides page, not the Planet Guides page. :-\
I don't really know how all this html stuff works :).\
Can someone fix it for me? Thanks.
Quick Question for Virgil - are you OK with screenshots of the different planets/layouts from the core game on the wiki or would you prefer to reserve those for folks who register their copy? I wanted to ask before spending a lot of time screenshotting and uploading :)
Any screen shots should be fine to add to the wiki.
short question: is it possible to put embed videos on the wiki page? if yes I would like to do some how-to videos for the missions.
But i dont know how to record the game in video form, so could someone please give me a guide for it?
Mfg
Siccles
edit: guide isnot needed anymore, ive found a tool and tested it, and it works perfectly.
But i still need confirmation that videos (if yes --- which formats?) can be embed on the wikipedia page, otherwise it makes no sense to start recording.
Yeh, it has a video option on it. When you edit a page, it has a little format bar and stuff at the top. It's next to the insert picture button.
Just checked it out - looks good. I hope to add some content if I get a chance one day in the future.
it doesnt gets updated much
And whose fault is that?
Anyway, the wiki isn't going to grow if people don't edit it. I only really pay attention to the wiki when there's a recent edit - I can't fill up all those pages at once. Much easier for me to spellcheck the recent edits.
I finished the section about Loki 12-14 minutes ago :D
It even has the strategy I used for that map. ;)
Maybe the WIKI would be used more if it was easyier to find ?
( An link to it on the forum mainpage might help )
And there are some post in the forum that could be added to it i think ,
like how to make an custom background and so on ... ( if it is'nt there already =P )
Sorry , just wanted to bump this , so maybe someone start useing it =)
yeah, i've been updating it, trying to get a couple vids on and updated some of the planets. a link onthe home page would be really useful too.
