Title: Creeper World 3 not working with ATI card
Post by: motsnob on May 26, 2015, 06:41:46 AM
Hi,

Just upgraded my computer by adding a AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series card from a Nvidia one.
But sadly the excellent CW3 has stopped working.   The key lines in the log are:

GL: disabling render-to-cubemap due to Radeon driver bugs
GL: disabling mipmapped render textures due to Radeon driver bugs
GLContext: failed to activate 10000: The requested resource is in use.

Any ideas or help most appreciated.   Full logfile attached.

I suspect a driver issue. Have you updated your drivers after you installed the new card? While the Radeon HD 5700s are old, they are still supported.

I have a newer Radeon, and here's my log output for you to compare.

Hi Karsten,
Many thanks for your reply.
I did load the latest drivers for the ATI card - but I agree, it looks like a problem with them.   I will uninstall the drivers and reload them and let you know how I get on.

This may also help you home in on the issue:

Thanks Karsten75

The ATI drivers were up to date. But I removed the old, unused, Nvidia ones.  Then removed the ATI drivers and loaded them again.   That seemed to do the trick.

CW3 is functioning again.

The CW3 log now says Direct3D is supported so no need for the OpenGL errors.

Many thanks for the support and poking me in the right direction
