big and hard map, enjoy it
Well done! :)
This was a fun map. I was quite excited to switch out all my pz's with berthas once I finally made it all the way over there. Pounding away on the death star was a very satisfying finish.
Thanks!
I terraformed everything on the right, and instead of painstakingly making my way across the rest of the bottom of the screen, I sent wave after wave of pulse cannons into the center island, then one wave of bombers, then sent in the guppies to take the big island. From there it was pretty easy to grab Thor (though I never actually built it) and kill the annoying mobile emitter in space.
What is the actual highscore for this map? Unfortunately, I see a bunch of (I think) impossible times.
I know Dp's time is definitely real (Dp is d0m0nik's old tag,) and I'm also pretty sure I've seen blatantly cheated scores by pajajezak before. So the cutoff probably lies somewhere in between those two, but I'm not sure where. I've seen Atomicfrog and argh1 around the leaderboards a lot too, but I'm not 100% sure if they're legitimate or not.
That would mean it's about 46 mins. That's amazing. I really have to think how to get close. (I'm currently at 1:13:46).
I now recall why I never completed this map. :(
When I played this the first time round I did not realise:
Spoiler
you can pick up the Thor at the start.
I will have a go later but I think I may beat the 26 min time. The top score is the only fake one in my opinion.
Spoiler
With the thor and guppies you may be able to leap straight across and go for the kill?

Hmm, very interesting, I might take a closer look at this one myself when I have time.. The main reason I'm pretty sure pajajezak fakes his scores is because he posted completely unreasonable scores on all 3 of ThirdParty's micro puzzle maps. He beat Alter Old by nearly a minute on Racquet, and won the other two in under a minute.
Edit: The maps I'm referring to are #50, #88, and #173 for reference

You'll have to be fast. :) I took out the central "unit" by 25 minutes, but that's not a game winner. The enemy units and and pickups still remain. :(
Oh wow, I assumed it was like an inhibitor. Nicely done though Karsten! :D
Edit - Played the conventional way round but with Thor, 29 mins. Not bad, I can't do much better but 25 mins possible. I forgot to use the Bertha.
Great map by the way, a classic.
Ok, getting the Thor at the start should definitely help getting my time down.
How can you tell what the victory condition is? Can that be looked up somewhere?
Edit:
Ok, that clearly helped. I played the map 3 times now: 1:50:33, then 1:13:46, and then 46:50.
Thanks for the tip!
Nice work, 46 mins is a great score on this map. The terrain makes it slow going.
