This has always been my version of CW3 heaven: fortification via terrain, and perfectly held defenses that cannot be breached easily at all within the forseeable future.

The only way is if the emitter gain power over time, forcing you to expand, and continue to gain power to handle the weapon, and nulify the treats.

That, fortunately, exists in some custom maps; emitters and other structures grow stronger over time, so constant defense is not the best approach in every single scenario.
