Title: Possible bertha bugs
Post by: FishintehPond on June 23, 2014, 02:52:14 AM
Found 3 possible ones here. All happened with the berthas set to manual and aimed (at least I meant to) at very thin creeper or very small pools:

1. Refused to fire if it's aimpoint has no creeper at all, in addition to creeper described above
2. Refused to fire if aimpoint is within one of my shields
3. Refused to fire a tall unless I clicked the gum/it's aimpoint.

Edit: change a detail to reduce confusion.

im pretty sure the first one is intended behavior, dont want shots wasted when theres no creeper
im not sure about the second one or the third one, though 3 does sound like a bug

Auto-target centers on the deepest possible creeper when the bertha is 20 packets away from having enough ammo to fire. It doesn't take efficiency into account and that is why it often targets creeper with map and terrain/void edge cells in the center of its reticle. It also doesn't take other berthas into account either.

I think I may have also discovered a bug that works when you manually target it when it is in auto-target mode. I forget what the bug was as the last instance was a long time ago, but I think it stopped it from auto-targeting for a moment.

The bugs I brought up were all with only manual-target. The guns were never on auto.

This would be the cause of the misunderstanding. You should probably edit that post to avoid future confusion.

If this is the case, give us some saves so we can see for ourselves.
