At no point did the creeper ever pose any threat to a slow expansion.
By the time I was 2/3 of the way there (dropping a Bertha on every PZ as I passed) there was little creeper to be seen, most of the map was dry.

Very nicely done.
A fun game to play - though long - it kept me interested the whole time.
