Title: CW1 & 2 on steam?
Post by: Nardian on March 25, 2014, 07:29:04 PM
Hi,

I know that this topic was already discussed, and I think I remember something like "steam didnt respond after hearing about adobe flash / air"... so, you are asking why I create this topic? :) Because of valve's new "game", which is actually not a game, but a documentary about dota 2 (named "Free to Play"). I was curious about steam releasing a video, and discovered that this video was saved on my disk using Adobe Air as a player for the actual mp4 file.

So... I just wanted to tell you guys that steam seems to have changed its mind about Adobe Air, so it may be worth another try to get the first two CWs on steam?

(If I missed something obvious, Im sorry for spamming the forum of this great game(s) :) )

Greets,
Nardian

AIR isn't an issue any longer (other than a technical one)...
The issue these days is going through the Greenlight process for each game.  Right now the only way to get a game on steam (other than being a AAA publisher) is via greenlight.  The rumor mill says this might change in the future, though.  If it does, then I'll happily put CW1 and CW2 on steam.  If not, then greenlight is something I could do again for each of the first two games... but I'd rather avoid it if at all possible.

That makes sense i mean i can't be fun to have to go thoruth the wait of getting green-lite two times aging

I've also been thinking about this, but this was my idea:
When you run CW3, a window looking somwhat like this should show up:

Yeah, I made this in 45 seconds in MS Paint.
