Yay, another awesome map.
I didn't used that beam since it was too late to use that.
When I clicked it beam destroyed half of my army :) I was approaching from right side and there were Lots of units.

After reading description I clicked all around to find those buttons. You should've made them much more contrast.

Did you try using guppies earlier?

More contrast how? I can see them fine.
But I'll change the symbols to yellow for the next map.

Wow.  Nice map.  I can't even count how many restarts I did on this one.  Can't wait for the next level.

I found this map tedious at best and after 10mins of playing and getting wiped out twice I just don't enjoy it.

Managed a no-restart run on this map.  ;D
Mastery of a certain previous element was quite critical, as was getting to the second CN before the laser got to my first base.
I love the fact that the emitters didn't have to be super powerful 50+ creeper per interval gods to provide a challenge. Even at only around 30 or less each, they provided a challenge as to nullifying them; Nullifying the reactors was definitely more important, though. My hint:
Spoiler
Go after the bottom left reactor first, then work clockwise.
Once the beam caught up to me, I realized that I could fly my guns further away, then fly them back over safely without some detour around. Even without upgrades, collectors build fast enough that if you fly a CN over the laser and start rebuilding right away, that I managed to replace every single one by the time the laser had gone through. I found that the two Ore Patches were easy to defend, although an initial poor decision left me having to take the left patch back from the creeper before I used it the first time; They were critical until I had enough energy production to mine from the Refineries. Finally, I found that using the Refineries to build all my Cannons early on was the best decision.

Also, my slow time is due to my initial choice to start top left. I was quickly chased down to the lower right, where I recommend you start. DO NOT allow yourself to be temped to start at the top left; Although, I DID nullify the reactor nest before I did anything else, so maybe you DO want to start there. It depends on your level of skill and how much you want to challenge yourself.

Fun map! I admit that the first time I fired the Laser Bertha, I took out some of my own units. Glad you took the idea, looking forward to seeing if you took my idea as to how it's built in the next map, or decided on another way.  ;D

Thanks for the help, however given the comments I have seen regarding stupid CW players that downvote because they can't beat a map, of which I am a proud member of same stupid group. then how can the map makers make maps that appeal to a larger audience if all they ever hear is praise from a few elite players?

For starters, try not using emotive words.
Describe your actual situation - to include attaching a screen capture (the F12 key grabs your whole screen). What in particular is stopping you from advancing? Are you low on energy, unit development, placement, etc.?
The odds are that others had the same problem and found some way to get past it.
Many players here are more than willing to help you work through a problem area, and some will even come up on Chat to do so.

The operative word is 'fun' and the more skill and ability we develop, the more fun we all have. None of us started out as experts and many of us (looks in mirror) are still banging away at it.

Do you want me to make an easy version, then?

"Hard maps" are my thing (though I'd hesitate to call them completely hard. Hard starts, maybe.) There are plenty of easy and medium CS maps out there, as well as the DMD.

Maybe there should be two separate rating scales for "fun" and "difficulty." Although, we already have a pretty good measure of difficulty with DLs-to-scores ratio.

So. Easy mode?
(If you just want help with this one I'll be glad to give it.)

Another great planetfall map.
I loved the use of the Dark Beam, as both an enemy and a weapon.

I think this is one of the maps where the quicker you act, the more trouble you save yourself from. Important to take out as many of those corrupted reactors as soon as you can to slow down the rotation of that Dark Beam.

This was a very fun map for the ~10 minutes I was able to play. It definitely pays to be aggressive at the beginning.

I get frustrated because I see a map that I know someone put a lot of work into and a lot of thought put into it and then try to play it and fail miserably while others seem to have no problems. maybe there should be a way to scale back the maps like most games which have an easy, medium or hard mode. Thus allowing everyone from beginner to expert play on the maps. Then I see the sigs making fun of people like myself that don't have the skills or patience or ability to beat those same maps.

What I should have said was, The beam is too quick in it's turn around and by the time I have everything set up the beam has come around and wiped out my base. Yes I could use the game mechanic of pausing and moving my weapons and base but I don't like that particular way to play so it removes some of the fun. after this happened a few times with a few restarts. I was frustrated and posted. Not the most constructive post I agree.

On Kongregate there was a flash version of CW that has a survival mode. Maybe something like that can be incorporated in CW3.

Some of your maps have been hard but fun, and I appreciate the work that goes into making these maps. This one was just frustrating for me. Sorry for not giving constructive criticism in my original post. Yes, I would like to see an easier version of this map. Maybe there is a way for the beam to only destroy things on high ground say above 6?

Cheers

I was able to finish this with no restarts. I did end up moving lots ofy movable units and rebuilding much of my base to do it. (Hint: relays are your friend. Get in close enough to that evil dark beam and a pair of relays can link the halves of your base for nearly half a rotation.

I too was completely unable to see the buttons on the good dark beam. There is ZERO contrast  there. (I accidentally blew away my entire link between base and beam and half a dozen weapons trying to find them by feel.)

I'm officially stumped.
I started out by attacking all of the corrupted Reactors I could reach, plus the Runner's Nests. Maybe not the right approach.
Advice friendly advice out there?

I killed the center bottom emitter and didn't worry about the nests. (When you can afford a strafer and have a PZ to put it on you'll be able to take the runners pretty much out of play.)

Attached is the order I nullified things in.
I started building PCs to hold back the digitalis somewhere between 1 and 2 and sent a guppy up to the friendly dark beam somewhere between 3 and 4. The dark beam is great at destroying digitalis if you have enough energy, as it quickly sweeps over the emitter and surrounding area.

Thanks, This helped a lot and I did manage to beat it. I decided to try and get rid of the reactor carrier generator first and that helped immensely.

Cheers

I admit, first few times I tried his, i was stump. The beam would over run me, and the creeper took over while I tried to rebuild. Then i found out the dark core, control the speed. I must have missed that, so When I started removing them, and the beam got slower, it allow me to win.
Also the tip about the Guppy really helped too.
