Excuse me? One of the easiest turtles out there, where be impossibility? And tons of free AC to boot... :/

hey PF, was it really necessary? XD

Well, people were complaining about it a bit. The rating and scores-to-DLs ratio were much lower a few hours ago, and I was too lazy to check just before uploading this one  ::)

Anyway, for me this was the hardest one, and when the author's time on a map is over an hour sometimes that doesn't look too good. Besides, I don't see your name on the score list... :P

@pf - good decision!
For all of those (ahem!) "other" people who couldn't finish the original version, this might be a great way to prep for and complete it.
Your games are always on the bleeding edge of possible, and finishing one is very satisfying.

I'll make a run at this one a bit later today.
Thanks,
H

Kinda like finishing a 20 lb steak. Not that I've managed to finish a 20 lb steak... aren't steaks usually measured in oz? :P
Haven't beaten regular version yet, but I have a better idea of what to do now that I've beat the easy mode.

No steak! BURGUER! (with the U, yes).

Yes, its nice to have difficulty choosing from, very nice.

Maybe the pteroformer tech could have a higher timer and lower cost, that would make it better to bridge the gaps.

PF, be my map slave, and tell me your campaign is 200 maps long.

It does in Ptechnological Pterror. The time in both versions of FS was a mistake and I wanted it to be 1 second. I didn't fix it in this version because it didn't make sense for it to be less powerful in the easy mode.

My campaign is "Until I run out of ideas" maps long.

Everything that ever happened or ever will

Player units:
Unit Compressor
Micro-Rift
Shockwave Generator or Sanctum Sanctorum (shield-based super units)
ICBM
Factory (exactly what it will do, IDK, but I want to include one "economy" super unit)
Some kind of Tesla coil / chain effect thing
Friendly Black Hole Missiles

Enemy Ideas:
Corrupted Reactor (would create burning digitalis)
Burning Digitalis (replaced by runner flamethrowers)
Giant Robot Boss
Giant Turret Boss
More types of missiles
All the corrupted units that aren't taken
More types of runner weapons (runner mounted emitters, spore towers, runner nests that produce more runner nests that produce more..., missile launchers)

Maps:
Labyrinth map with FoW
The maps where you rescue the two scientists
The two bosses above
Fight one war on ground (normal) and one in orbit (destroy weapons shooting at the planet)
Whatever else I think of that plays well off the strengths/weaknesses of the super units and enemies
& etc.
[close]

So, I shall get to work, Master :P

Duuuuuuuuuuuuude,

that combine units to make something else stuff is creepalicious. You know Defensor  (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Defensor_(G1))was always my favorite.

On a scale of 1 to The Incredible Hulk, how upset would you be if I took your scripts and made a map with them?

I'm thinking the conversation would go like this:
Skars: "This map does not have any story or reason for it."
Lia: "Flabort just felt like messing around with Planetfall's stuff. Stealing it, if you will."
Loki: "As with Planetfall's maps, press CTRL+E to scan units. Go play his series, I command you."
Skars: "Wait, what's the Loki doing here? I thought there wasn't any story here."
Loki: "There's not. You're basically Karting with Bowser here. Have fun!"

Not at all! Go right ahead. I'm going to put them on the forums anyway once I've thoroughly commented them.

EDIT: one thing to watch out for is that PZ generators draw behind the green collector field. I should probably fix that...

Ack. I opened this map in the editor to look at the scripts.
:o
The constructor alone has so many lines of code. Not that it's not inefficient, I've discovered I have problems with making my scripts... too efficient and small, making them unreadable to human eyes, or making them not work.
There's 33 scripts here. I... don't know... now I'm intimidated by the whole prospect.

I've asked and got approval, though, and now I feel like I must do this.  :P

What? I thought there were only 26. What scripts do you have that I don't? (unless you added them yourself, in which case, disregard my stupidity)

Oh... I get it. I used the same folder to extract the scripts as I did a previous map, and now I've got scripts from 2-4 maps all in the same folder.
Still, 26 scripts. That's a lot.  :o
I'll survive. So let's try that again....

I must say though, your displayHelp with the added interface variable-storing script was pretty ingenious. Which, naturally, I too have stolen.

(Except in my map Lia is dead/gone/deleted/virus'd. So it's just Skars using the scanner, not being able to get as much information as he'd like, and making sassy responses.)

Nah, CW universe has parallel dimensions, Lia can always come back unscathed. Or evil Abraxis Loki-Lord face off Hippie Platius from dimension 667.

Pfft, parallel dimensions are a cop-out (unless of course they're integral to the plot). And the map revolves around 'curing' Lia anyway.
