Title: Custom character images overlay names
Post by: Clean0nion on January 29, 2014, 05:01:44 PM
When making a custom character using the built-in functions on >1.69, the custom character image goes over the text. The image is fully visible but the text is not present - whether due to a bug resulting in lack of text or the image going over the text.
Tested with Custom6 and Custom7 on two different saves in the WorldEditor. One image was green, the other black.

Attach the project you're working on to your thread. It saves Virgil  recreation and debugging time.

Yeah, I need a project because things seem to work properly for me.

Woops! Sorry - forgot that.

If it's fine on your end then you're either using a superior version or there's going to be a huge forum-wide dispute about my graphics card.

can you tell the difference between a save file and a project? You attached a save file. A project is a folder with a number of files. You zip it up and attach the entire project.

Sorry again! Although I don't see how it makes a difference but I suppose you guys know what you're doing!

Isn't everything (scripts, images) included in the save.cw3 file inside the project folder? Anyways, the custom images work fine on my end (1.69, both on a map of my own and on the one you attached here).

If it's just on my end then that should be fine for uploading, though I'll have to confirm it with someone.
If someone could put up a screenshot of their CW doing things as it should?

Alright, now I get it. You are not talking about the message text itself, but about the name caption thingy. That's missing on my end, too. Sorry for the confusion.

I am terrible at filing troubleshooting reports today!

Yeah... the last two slots for characters appear to be missing the names.  And this appears to be because they never had text names, so the game doesn't have strings for them.
So it's not an issue of the image appearing in front of the text name, it is just that the game isn't showing the name.

It's now fixed for the next build, though.

Excellent - thank you!
