"The war is never over. Only the battles at hand." - Ender
Ender. Little is known about this man. But it is clear Ender has thrown away his humanity in order to fight the Loki. He was the last left alive in his timespace. Always running from the Loki-summoned creeper. Ender gave himself to the creeper and became one with it. He became the Ender Creeper. With his new found Alto-Creeper form, he launched an assault on the realm of the Loki. Entering the Loki realm he was instantly faced with inevitable doom. The Loki's strength came hammering down to crush him. Ender put up what fight he could and bound one Loki within the Alto-Creeper. Retreating, he closed the path behind him. Ender and the Loki fought in a death match. Ender won, but felt little in it. Ender had seen the depths, and he would never be the same.
For a long time Ender wandered. Until he came to realize space was warping due to the Loki. So he set out to stabilize the Multiverse.

"If it is my Sin, I'll overcome it." - Commander Chisame
Chisame is a woman of mystery. Born from a cloning pod from her future self's DNA. She watched Abraxis on his journey through the stars to find hope. On Colony Prime she grew up until she reached the age of 26. Abraxis took note that she no longer aged or grew. He trained Chisame, even while he raised his own family and lost it. After the loss of Aliana, Chisame took a more active role. Studying to command a Liberation Ship. Chisame fought on the sidelines of the Styglek war. Studying the new technology brought forth. With the return of Aliana, the two worked together. Finally commanding a Liberation Ship she created a team, and with it the events of the Revy Paradox (ETF) took place.
Finally meeting Platius face to face, she learned of her own heritage. But she had yet to learn why she didn't age. Before this question came to mind Ender appeared before her, asking for her help. Chisame went with Ender to another timespace.
--------------------------------------
"So long as I continue to breath, there is hope" - Lieutenant Chisame
A woman from another time and space. Who was born the daughter of Aliana. Chisame doesn't talk about her home. No one would find it if they looked for it. The last sentient life in her timespace. The last person left to fight against the creeper onslaught. Hunted to the very ends of the universe. Why did she continue to fight? What did she have to fight for? Chisame fought until she ran out of resources, time, and places to run. In the final moments before her ship was destroyed, Ender reached out to her. Chisame fought for her life, and took his offer.
--------------------------------------
"There is no illness that does not have a cure. Only illness with no known cure." - Doctor Kaede
On the eve of space travel for her people, a disease never seen before swept across her homeworld. With precious days until all life would be extinguished, Kaede developed a cure. With a rejection rate of 1%, her people were saved. Looking only to their own health, they didn't not see the calamity that fell from the sky. The Creeper Emitters ran down upon her world. Creeper flowed across the land swallowing all.
In a last ditch effort to save some of their people, a hand-full of people were chosen. Kaede being a doctor of unmatched brilliance was one of the few. The first and last ship left the world and traveled into the depths of space. Unable to find a world to build a future, and supplies running out. Kaede and the others entered stasis, in the hopes of one day coming upon a world to build a future. A future that would never be.
Ender woke Kaede up. Kaede opened her eyes to find the others in stasis had long died. Ender reached out to her, and Kaede accepted.
--------------------------------------
"There are no limits to technology. Only limits to those that can build it." - Engineer Greg
Four worlds were colonized by his people. The first world fell silently in the dark. The second revealed the threat of the Creeper. The third showed just how strong the creeper were. The forth took a stand. Through his work, his people swore that Greg could bend the very fabric of reality to his will, and build machines to do anything. Greg had seen the fall of the third world, and with it he knew he needed to forge weapons to fight it. As the threat loomed closer Greg created a planetary defense system, along with all the space ships at hand, the creeper never reached the world.
Exhausted, used, and broken, the defense Greg and so many others built had barely managed the impossible. For ten days the world thought it was safe. For seven days new ships were built. 2 days too late the Creeper attacked once more. Annihilating everything that was left, the Creeper took the world. Twelve unfinished ships took flight off the world. Ship 6 carried Greg.
Each ship went it's own way. Greg elected to stay and fight. Developing new technology and weapons, he fought a losing war. Eventually he created a dimensional warp drive, and was force out of his timespace in order to stay alive.
--------------------------------------
"If one universe can exist, then so can infinite others." - JORDAN
Each universe can be defined by it's timespace. A timespace being an all of a universe that cannot interact with another universe. There are few that can overcome this timespace barrier. Platius, the Loki, and Ender are such few.
The Alpha TimeSpace - The Universe in which the Loki's attempts to purge were stopped by the humans and Styglek resistance. Commander Chisame's TimeSpace.
The Omega TimeSpace - A Universe in which the Loki won. The only survivor is Lieutenant Chisame.
The Theta TimeSpace - The Universe in which humans were all but wiped out. The lone human survivor being Doctor Kaede.
The Delta TimeSpace - A Universe where the remnants of humankind are scatted and count less then a hundred. The Styglek being extinct. Engineer Greg's TimeSpace.
The (Unknown) TimeSpace - A Universe that has long been purge of all things. Ender once came from this TimeSpace.
--------------------------------------
"Given the right circumstances, any person can overcome any threat. I just help those circumstances fall into place." - Platius

ETG: The Second Series.
In Development.... for real this time.
--------------------------------------
Chisame Woke to Ender's call.
"Ender? Where are we?"
"It matters not" Ender replied, "What matters is that we have yet to begin."
"Being cryptic again?"
"Perhaps. Chisame. Time will tell if we're successful."
"First I found out I'm a clone of myself, now I find out you put me in stasis. Just how much time did you let pass before waking me?"
Ender laughed. "This war Chisame. Is a battle that may very well never end. You must understand."
"What of the people I left behind?"
"I can safely say they lived out the rest of their lives. For you on the other hand." Ender paused for a moment. "You may never find rest."
"You really are a bastard. Think you're a god too?"
"Not at all. If I had been, this war would have long ended. But for now Chisame. Let us begin."
"Begin what?"
Ender merely laughed.
Chisame sighed. "Okay then."
I was hoping for something like this :D , I'm curious what you'll be doing with all that CRPL magic :o

You can find everything you need here: http://knucklecracker.com/wiki/doku.php?id=crpl:start
It seems I made this thread a bit early. If an admin could move this to custom maps. I'd be ever so grateful.
wow,you are back,welcome back,we miss your map
ETG is on indefinite hold. This is on the account of lack of Custom Character Support.
Another contributing factor, is my inability to grasp how CLRP works, along with the change in fields from previous maker.
As you know I'm a big story buff, as such not being able to do Custom Characters is a nail in the coffin for the project.
If and when Custom Characters are supported, I shall take up the mantle again. When said time comes, I may need a programmer's assistance.
This is sad, but I understand. I would most certainly rather see the series done right than done fast, and I doubt I'm alone in that.
As it stands I'm attempting a project myself, to learn coding, and because it's fun. And I plan to do custom characters as well. Good luck to us both, eh?

Yeah custon characters are hard. This was my solution to doing that. Use the red and green character place holders then in the actual text put in the person's name with brackets around it, example (name here), and then the red and green character place holder can mean something that you first described. I hope that helps. Good luck to both of you. ;D
Support for custom characters might come once custom map support is put into place. I never even thought about it during beta either.
Just to say, you don't even need custom character support. Just use a range of images to make up the textbox and the character image, then use SetText.

Mind showing me a tutorial then?

1. You don't need a tutorial. If you experimented with CRPL and actually made some maps, you'd know.
2. The custom characters update has happened now. So now you can add your custom characters and upload the maps which by now must be finished.

way to resurrect a topic! ::)
1. i'd not respond well to that opening comment, be positive
and polite perhaps?
2. people have other things in their lives too, chill dude, chill. 8)
I know, sorry, my comment was a little rude - my apologies, ETF. I won't go into further details.
Except this - you can have a maximum of 8 custom characters per map at the moment, which I expect is far more than enough. And that's because they override the current characters. So you can't have Skars and Lia talking to 8 other people, only 6.
Alright. Good to know. I'll update my game and see if the project is viable.

If you have actually finished the maps, that's pretty amazing because I honestly didn't expect that.
And if you haven't - you still have the most developed CW3 story so far, other than obviously Arc Eternal, and I can't tell if someone else is planning something spectacular in secret.
J, 3P, pawel, eduran - I'm looking at you.

I meant about the update. I haven't been visiting the beta thread daily, so I wouldn't have known until someone mentioned the update. The project is still pretty far from getting off the ground, but knowing it's now possible, means there might be some good news soon.

If you click "notify" at the top of a thread then you get emails about it - but I still have unread emails about past versions that I nver bothered to read because I just come straight to the forum.
Anyway, good luck with your project. If you haven't started dabbling in CRPL just yet I recommend you look at J's inaccurately-labelled #UnitSeries
collection of maps to check out shield keys and how they work.
Good luck!

It's in Colonial Space - get a version that's at least 1.50, preferably just get the latest version. Open up Colonial Space and hang on, I'll just post some code here.
once
"HASH" ArtifactCollected IsEditMode or if
# Do this if the key HAS been collected
else
# Do this if the key HAS NOT been collected
"You need the key from the previous map in order to play this map." "Oh, alright then" "" ShowMessageDialog
endif
endonceAll you do is one the first map, place a shield key. Then double-click it and it'll show a Base64 code that you can't edit. Just copy it, and paste it into the speechmarks where I've written HASH. It'll look something like
379ced0a6ba2428293842e1cae42f7e2.
Then save that file as a .crpl file in the scripts folder of the second map, and compile.
I strongly recommend you build a few other CRPL maps first, if only to get the hang of it.
I just started replaying the ETF series(and you know, actually winning some of the worlds.) and i must say I'm glad to see there are plans for a continuation. for custom characters there's always planetfalls custom text thingy(link here:http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=17683.msg125638#msg125638. its in that map. somewhere.)
As for CRPL:Yes. its a pain but i understand. take as much time as you want/ need. I'm sure the series will be worth it.
Incidentaly:sorry if i sound like an idiot.
