This week's theme includes all of the live action Star Trek series. (Some spaces added to series names for the sake of interesting maps)
Interesting fact: Once I'd finished picking the maps, I arranged them in order of complexity. After doing so I noticed that it also happens to be the chronological order of the series. (According to the years they take place during, not air date) :)

Eketek,
How on earth did you manage to post a 1077 minute time on the last map? That's more time than has even elapsed since I posted the tournament! lol
According to the Intractable Laws of Sensibility, I must have determined which of the maps you would select at a time which potentiated my score.
he used 2x speed.
'Star Trek: The Next Generation' is really tough. I couldn't find an easy way to beat it. I was lucky I was able to beat it at all! After this week, someone has to let me know how they did it.
All 5 maps were fun. Nice choices.
The white gem gives you enough energy to build up a defence. Use shields against the early drones while digging for more gems. Then 2 phantom coils, nullify top emitter, nullify gateway, and so on ...
That's pretty much the same strategy I used as well. If you do it efficiently enough, you can have the top emitter and gateway destroyed before the second creeper area breaks through, and you can have enough blasters waiting to take care of the drone rush. After that it's just mop up.
I haven't had a chance to play in a while, but I saw this Tournament and had to comment.... what about Star Trek the animated series.

Well, the standard weekly tournament format only allows for 5 maps, so I limited it to the live action series only. If the weekly tournament were 6 maps, I'd have included it for sure! :)
YEah TNG is the only one I haven't beaten or coming close to it, that's a neat startegy, i imagine at first you'd do some drone dodging or something. I'll probly find a way to beat it though.

Drone dodging isn't necessary for this one. You just use shields to handle the drones until you have collected crystal energy and can get a blaster going.
I finally got the map done. after 20 minutes xD
I kinda had to do some drone dodging as after getting hte crystal i started to build 4 blasters right away. I slowly got more of a foothold from there :)
Was super fun, feel great now!
As ctuna picked the previous tournament, by the weekly tournament rules that means that the next tournament is yours to run if you want it, Zaggy!

That was sneaky to not post the final results at the end of the thread, but instead replacing the earliest score table in the thread...
That's why I also posted the message at the end of the thread, designating the next tournament runner so that the thread would show up as having new activity.
Hooray! Alright, I'm working on the next week's tournament map names. The theme will be 5 NFL teams with their records for last year. I'll post a new topic soon.
