I ask because having seen the videos, i can't tell the creeper and anti-creeper apart. To my eyes those two colors might as well be the same color.

It needn't be anything fancy. Even just an alternate setting may serve perfectly. Though it would be nice to define the anti creeper color myself without having to mess around with editing files I know what I can differentiate clearly much better than anyone else does.

I plan to address this by allowing creeper base colors to be changed in settings.

This means for existing maps, correct? Like, a global setting that changes creeper/anticreeper colors, rather than altering the color in a map?

Yep, you pick the colors, not the map.
