I was too aggressive and destroyed the gateway before it could send the necessary dig packets... Bummer.

Yea, I always kind of wonder whether that sort of thing is good to put in a map. It can make for neat mechanics, but it can also ruin a players current match if they don't realize it. If I ever make a long map, I'll probably avoid using it.

you can put a warning in a text box (or two) if you do want to use it on a long map. i agree that not knowing is frustrating, and forcing a restart is often forcing a quit, so if use those sort of tricks i tend to put a heads up somewhere too
