We've all played it before.
This was a great map for the experts and the casual player alike. I casually played through it, taking all the gems, ran out of energy twice, losing half my army both times. Tense but not instantly deadly because of the huge AC amounts. Good idea. I actually wasn't aware they were Negative Point gems until I saw my score, so I actually just destroyed all the emitters at the bottom first, then moved up the map.
I also laughed at Varro's comment at the end. Nice Fun Map. :D
please give spoiler. i have trouble playing maps that have to do without reactors and other stuff
Here's how I did it:

Block of the bottom with mirrors and blaster set to Drones Only. Dig up the width of the city, destroying creeper along the way with blasters and launchers, nullify any emitters or bad drone makers. Keep the good drone makers. Eventually you'll get to the top, get techs, go after topmost creeper (if you got there in time, build reactors all over the place, defeat creeper all over with the help of c-bombs.
