Title: CW2 Bug: unit movement inverted while loading
Post by: florrat on February 23, 2013, 05:03:51 PM
I found a small bug in CW 2 which can invert the movement direction of a unit when loading a map.

How to reproduce this bug (it does not work always though, but most of the time... Couldn't find extra conditions when it did(n't) work).

1) Order any unit to move.
2) Save the game while the unit is still moving. Remember in which direction it is moving.
3) Load the map, pause before starting it.
4) Before any frame of gameplay, order the moving unit to move again
5) The unit will now move the wrong way (exactly the opposite direction) until it has reached the next cell (which was the last cell it has visited) before moving to the ordered spot.

Can you reproduce it? If not, I will attach a save file in which it happens.

I think this depends on where in the cell the unit is in when you order the new move.

I have had this bug quite a few times... It can really mess up drone evasion.

But It doesn't seem like that big of deal, because if you load your save again and don't tell the unit to move it will remember what it was supposed to be doing and finish moving properly.

I agree it's not a big deal, but I thought I should mention it anyway.
