What my question is relativity simple: Will there be people in the community that will post videos on YouTube?
I know it's best to play your self, but I seem to lack all the pro strats and tricks. Will people post videos on how to do this?
Some people undoubtedly will post videos. Many posted for the previous versions. Some even posted links from here to their videos.
I know some eager Beta testers are preparing to submit videos that Virgil may use on his blog. But I suspect many of those are finding out how hard it is to create a video with good production values... it is a learning process that requires time, patience and a lot of space on your hard drive.

This might be the best news I read in the last 192 minutes! Thank you! (and thank you, eager beta testers!)
It is always fun to watch someone conquer a map...
I will.

Most of us play in isolation - so few of us get to watch someone else's technique.
You can learn a lot, but also get influenced by the others.
The wonderful thing about the Creeper World series is that you can play it any way you want - CW3 even more so than before!
In the past I've completed a map and checked my score/time against others and realised that I've missed something important.
I love taking someone else's ideas and adapting them to my play style.

I enjoy trying to build a custom map that uses a different way of fighting the creeper.
Creeper World 3 will definitly support this, and I cannot wait for it!
I plan on youtubing, but I have been very busy as of late with work and all, but i should have some free time next week or so to get back onto the game <3
I had a dream of playing through the game while streaming everything live so that peeps could follow along if they wanted to...

Indeed, that is what I will be doing come release.
I've noticed the banner for the software that Lich98 is using on his videos. I am curious if that is what others here recommend?
I use Fraps, and I though V also used Fraps to record his video's, not 100% sure though.
I for one will be an avid watcher!
I will be posting videos for sure.
Virgil would you be able to create a sub topic bord in CW3 area for Youtube conversations to go when the game is realeased?
I will post strategy and tutorial videos.
have to wait until i record them first, then V has to put them on the blog.....

Unless you post them after game release.
I might do a few. I just recently purchased a fun recording program called litecam HD. The file sizes are a lot smaller than fraps, and decent quality. Though, like the other poster said, production value is important as well. I'm not quite sure how I would make myself interesting in this game. Not sure if anyone plays Starcraft 2, but I made my first video for that recently, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW8tYv9Kb5E .
Oh also, speaking of production value, does anyone recommend a video editing program. Something under $100, preferably $50 or under. I'm thinking about powerdirector.
I use VirtualDub, which is free, and has everything you'll actually need unless you want to make a whole bunch of special effects... Avidemux is also a good, free, editing program.
Yea, I don't need anything too fancy. One thing I wanted to do that I couldn't with Windows Live Movie maker, is be able to put a simple picture over a certain part of the video. I guess it's called picture in picture, or having more than one video track. I'm still very much a beginner :). I also want the video quality to remain fairly in tact. I'll probably download VirtualDub later and take a look at it. Thanks!
I use at $60 program called Pinnacle Studio. I mainly got this because I wanted to have some of the fancy effects and tile movements.

And because you had $60 to spend... :)

I had closer to 250 to spend...
I have none to spend :'( :'(
I was unable to post for the previous versions, but I deeply plan on doing an entire let's paly on almost every bit of the main story mode atleast on CW3 almost the moment it releases, if not, the nthe moment i own it.

and a lot of space on your hard drive.
Well then it's a good thing I got a 3 terabyte hard drive just waiting to be used. :P
Wow...been awhile since I used these forums.
Assuming this comes out on the Mac right away, I may try LPing this game. I know I'm nowhere near as good as some of you guys, but I don't care really. Heck, this may provide some insight.
*disclaimer: I have gotten the quick nexus kill on CW2...once I think. Bit too much skill and luck on that one for me to do regularly.*

There is currently a Mac RC, so most likely windows and mac will release at the same time. Linux, on the other hand, is probably a few months down the road.

Appreciated. While I do have the first two Creeper Worlds on Windows, I usually have better stability with recording on the Mac. Plus, my Mac has a bigger resolution.
October 4th
What?

What?
Maybe he meant that for the release date guess thread?
ups sry :)
Yep i posted that in the wrong thread
I plan on making some YouTube videos myself. Considering one of my courses has to do with social media marketing. I might be able to apply some of the stuff I learned in the course to marketing the game. Plus I might use some viral marketing of this game to put in my final project too.
Now I know how easy and fast it is to record and upload CW3 video's with fraps, I might do a walkthrough/promotion of one of my maps every now and then like I did with Electricity Quiz and Super Tower 2.
The LP plan is on hold for now. My computer can't handle the complicated missions well. Shame too.
May consider streaming if it won't mess with my stuff much.
Oh, that reminds me. Pretty much all weekend I will be streaming over at www.twitch.tv/michionlion. Later on, after I finish the story, I'll be doing some custom map development. So feel free to join me!
EDIT: there are also a few new/old videos at my youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/michionlion).
in case somebody is still wondering about what recording software to get, i can wholeheartedly recommend OBS, the open broadcaster software. There's currently a rewrite of the software going on in parallel to main development that will result in a mac and linux port, but so far OBS is perfect for live streaming and recording to disk on a windows system.
