A single laser and very light armor can defend it against stray particulate that has drifted into the backline, but frontline combat necessitates much support by proper fighting vessels. The WLD-1-M in Battletech is a pure AgroMech, used for agricultural work much like a tractor. As it uses military grade computers for its equipment, it occasionally is reuilt for combat by rebels, militias, and anyone in dire need of 'mechs
