Testing the ability of combination of custom ships BIG SHIELD, TANK LATHE and FastBOMB in media with red structure and delay of start time of some emitters.
Game hard or maybe very hard!

ATTENTION: Version 1.02 of PF game is required!

Photos of custom ships in attachment.

Your feedbacks are greatly appreciated. Good Luck!  :)

P.S. Attention, please: game need micromanagement (maybe annoying) when You deal with FastBOMBs.
P.P.S. Hint:
Spoiler
If You put 2-3 omnis in left/up and left/bottom lands You can protect red emergent from left
and create safety central part of map.  ;)

WOW! Very stable number 1 rating (from the end) among all maps!  :)

So hard start?

Strat of game not so hard. Hint:

Spoiler
At the start all energy better to use for building OMNIs (at  least select "land production", "omni reactor" and "omni cannon") and FastBOMBs. Send firstly to the left/up land 1 omni (then additional 2). A little later send to left/bottom land 1 omni (then additional 2). So You can protect left part of map from creating red emergent.
In central part of map using cheap FastBOMB You can protect central land from creating red emergent and get stable position. Then step by step build BIG SHIELDs, TANK LATHE, one by one pickup new ships  etc.

What the hell is this?

No. Just no. It is impossible. You have 3,000 particles attacking the center part within the first 10 seconds.

Just a few seconds after taking the second reactor you are completely overrun.

47 downloads and 1 submitted time, That tells me all I need to know about this map. I don't need to look at 1's or 10's.

I think I see the problem. You said that you delayed of start time of some emitters. But after starting the map I see every emitter going at full power right away.
That probably broke the difficultly level of the map  ???

The fastbomb neither is fast or bomb enough to hold off the waves between explosions.

First 4 min working only 3 emitters with total 1500 particle production. Then +1 emitter (500), after 1min one more (500).
How to start - please, see screenshots above.

WOW! It is strange. Maybe Your version of PF game not recent?

I have non-Steam version 1.0.2b2.

You are running the 1.02 beta, then. Most people will be running the non-beta 1.01 build, which does not have Emitter delay implemented. When 1.02 comes out of the beta branch, the map will be winnable.

I don't know that the description can be changed to note that V1.02 is required after map upload.

Well looks like my hunch about the emitters was right. Time to wait for that update then.  8)

So I updated to the beta, And tried this map again, the delay works now but still there is nothing here that is fun for me, It is all about micromanagement, There is no strategy needed, it is just about pausing and rebuilding destroyed ships, sending them out to be destroyed and pausing to rebuild and resend, ad nauseam.

I realize this is a testing map it says so right in the title, but what is it testing?

Impossible with the live version but after I upgraded to the beta version it became doable. While bomb ships are an interesting mechanic (seen them in other maps) it goes into tedious here. It's not a bad map and the start is definitely exciting, but it feels like it kinda overshot the mark for the later bits.

A tip for players:
Spoiler
Destroy the lower left most emitter as soon as possible and definitely before the emitters in the back get online. Let it convert to an enemy energy mine and not only will it no longer fire particles at you, a bunch of the particles from other mines will go hang around it, taking significant pressure off your front.

General thoughts:
I liked the ships, but don't like the mission.  Took a few attempts to figure out the opening.

My Rating:
4/10

My time:
47:31

Difficulty:
Hard

Yeah, this one wasn't as fun as others but it's not too much busy-work.

I found the flying bombs to be irrelevant. At least, I didn't use them. I prefer to just ram straight through.

I paused only a few times here and there when I couldn't see because of the 99 gazillion particles. Definitely do-able in a 30-minute sit-down, but I'd say this one is more of a challenge than fun. Not nearly as bad as the low rating suggests, but definitely not for people who are still looking for the toy at the bottom of a cereal box.

Giving up. Got the start done, got the first two emitters converted with some effort, but then the pressure is just too much to progress further to the right as the emergent started waltzing over my big ships.
Gems on the big ships didn't help enough to make a difference. In fact the cycle was lose a ship -> return to base because now the front would get overwhelmed -> progress again to retrieve the gem -> return because the ships again lost too much armor -> regem, advance again, lose a ship again, lather, rinse, repeat.
simply ramming through wouldn't work either, the liberated energy source would be overrun and converted back to red within seconds of absence - and after ramming through you *have* absence.

I guess that lucking out with just the right strategy would work, but... no patience.

Keep in mind that you can stack several ships on top of each other... sometimes that helps. Been a long while since I did this map but I remember it just being a slog so good luck.  :P
