Title: Smart Creeper
Post by: Kgobo on June 07, 2010, 04:25:40 PM
A kind of creeper that evolves to what you use to try to beat you like if you have a lot of morters it spreads faster.
If the creeper builds up enough it could shoot spores like a volcano.

Would add an extra challenge, not bad!

I want this. Very clever idea.

And it should change color based on its resistance. Like it
would turn red if you attacked it with blasters and it gained resistance,
then you attack it with mortars, and it starts turning blue from that, so
it would turn purple from both red and blue ( blaster and mortar) resistance.

It could help you show the resistance of the Creeper and what you should use on it.

So all of you have manage to finnished all of the maps ?

We dont need an even harder Emitter/Creepers , that can do extra damage if it gets strong .

It's possibel to make maps that's almost impossibel to finnished as the game is now =P

So guess what , i dont think this is an good suggestion . Sorry =(

It does not have to be just one type of Creeper( like now).
Anyways, this adds a new kind of strategy that previously
doesn't exist in the current game.

weird thing about ur suggestion is as u keep on attacking it it gains resistant to every single type of weapon like the blaster and mortar resistance so how would u beat the creeper?
dont like how u said ur suggestion :(

I understand what you mean, which is why I think the Creeper could get only so resistent. It would hit a point, where, instead of just gaining resistance from a certain weapon it starts taking away from another weapon you have used on it.

For an example lets say the Creeper can get a maximum resistance of 10. It would get 1 point resistance for every 20 cubic tiles of Creeper destroyed. Once the resistance hits 10, it cannot gain any more. The amount of resistance the Creeper can get could be set by the person making the map. And, anyways, if there is not a set resistance the color of the Creeper would eventualy become brown. Bluck :P

Well if implemented correctly this idea could be great.

In CW1, it probally could not be used that well because there are only three units (not including thor and SAM) that can attack the Creeper. That could make playing the map difficult. But in CW2 there are supposed to be 16 main structures/units, and this would make it much easier because you can change to a different unit and have more to choose from.

I wonder if this is what Virgilw means by the "New Enemy"
Or does he mean hostile human zombies.

I like the idea of "smart maps" but how does it effect the design of previous maps..
Given the idea that a preticular attack is needed to establish landing in an area in a map given certain weps..
Would this change if the creep was inteligent?
How backwards compatiple is a map?

drive thu..

I'm pretty sure that's still Creeper.
Basically, that's the equivalent of spores.
I'm guessing that the 'new enemy' is... something. I can't figure out what it has the highest probability of being according to speculation.

I think that a smart creeper is changing CW itself. CW has creeper that spreads like a thick syrup and it should stay that way.

if the creeper was intelligent then we would have a standard RTS game (build 10,000,000 of everything and send it to the other side of the map)

Um what RTS has you build 10,000,000 of everything then Attack move it?
Also imo 3 differnt color of creeper all attacking eachother and the *Good* Creeper. O.o Would be intresting.

no that would be very boring imo since you'd just be an observer to that very slow implacable fight

lol sorry to tell ya, but I belive this already exists kind of. The phantoms in CW2 are creeper pools that hunt for weak spots. So this already exists.
