It would be interesting to add time-stamps to the high score listings.
When you get to the remote reaches of tormented space and the prospector zone you get to know which names you expect to see at the top of the list and which ones are going to have similar scores to what you can expect to achieve (call-out to EmmJayKay, Villiers, and Rhino). They start to feel like old acquaintances. Reviewing their achievement dates would allow you see if their scores were obtained early in their career or if you are going up against them after they have a fully developed strategy.
I would assume that the time-stamp info is already stored in the database since you can filter for 3-day and 1-week scores ...
