There was a thing with intro text and hints that didn't get wired to properly show up, posting it here so people can see it. 

We're dropping you on an unusual world.  There's a base that's covered by creeper and still in perfect condition, we're sending you down to clear the world to hopefully figure out what's special about this world so that we can put it to use elsewhere.

Notes/Hints:

Any completed building will not be damaged by creeper, but buildings under construction are still vulnerable, use the island for initial construction. 
Sometimes it's better to let a place get overrun when focusing somewhere else.
