lost packets

if you are building something like a collector and its halfway and the creeper destroys it why does the packet disappear why doesnt it turn around and go back to odin city or a other building that needs to be build

Virgil talked about it. Basically he said that's how it was designed.

Lets say you are building a collector.You have 3 packets on the way.Then the collector is suddenly destroyed.You ask why don't the packets turn around/go to another unfinished building.Think of it this way,the three collectors were designed to build that way,like the packet was a specific part that other collectors already have,and weapons don't need.

The way I see it these packets are simply refined energy to fuel nanites and a particle generator to create mass out of thin air, so it should be able to reroute along the line, but not turn around.
