#1
As I explain in my own thread on this map,
Spoiler
the solution is a simple pattern: in order to activate a Totem, the previous Totem, and only previous Totem, needs to be activated. To wit: if you wish to activate Totem #4, then #1 and #2 need to be offline while #3 is active. To accomplish this, you must follow this sequence: 1, 2, 1, 3, 1, 2, 1, 4, 2, 1. Note that this sequence Activates Totem #1, which allows you to activate Totem #2; however, you must disable Totem #1 again before you are able to activate Totem #3. Then, again, you must disable Totems #1 and #2, but leave Totem #3 online in order to activate #4.

Like I said, the pattern is simple, once you realize what you need to do. Follow the pattern and the solution will present itself.

Spoilers are there for a reason - G.

Jacob, I don't wish to sound like a jerk, but are you sure you're trying hard enough?

I admit that the solution is a bit more complicated than the 8 or so keystrokes which I afforded you in my (now) spoiler. In fact, it should take a minimum of 256 keystrokes to finish the puzzle. But, that doesn't mean that the pattern isn't obvious.

Spoiler
Just make sure that when you Activate Totem #5 that Totems #1, #2, and #3 are offline, and Totem #4 is online. The same is true for Totems #6, #7, and #8: Make sure that the Totem right before it is the only one online, and the others are all offline. Again: To activate #8, #7 needs to be online, and #1 thru #6 need to be offline.

the puzzle is solved when the last totem turns on.  Therefore, the solution takes fewer keystrokes, I believe.  Anyway, solution below...

We have become the creeper...

I've never actually counted the keystrokes before. Someone else said that you need 256. You used 170.

You would need 256 if you just wanted to have Totem 8 on, but it takes less because victory occurs when all totems are on.

I love the Alpha sector. It was designed to test the limits of the game. Therefore, the Alpha sector is filled with crazy awesome maps. From the hardest slogfests to the most interesting strategies.

The game is definitely worth the $14.95.
