See here (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=4621.0) for the rules, an overview of themes and previous tournaments and the overall ranking.

Please post your progress/total scores in this topic to ease the calculations at the end of the week.

Good luck and enjoy! :)

Judging by my score on the first one, I really shouldn't play as I'm falling asleep.  I did pretty well in the first tourney I played in.  Gotta show I really can beat up on the creeper, Especially since I've got what I think is a clever idea for a theme.

Well, some very good players have returned over the past weeks. They've been playing a lot in past, so it will be harder to win. Don't compare your times too much with the top 3; just try to improve yourself a little every week, that will be much more rewarding.

You can post your suggestions anyway in the main tournament topic (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=4621.0). When others like it they can pick it as well, unless you prefer to save it for yourself of course....

This pretty much explains my enthusiasm for this weeks tournament,
I've been playing the maps and keeping track of how much time/score
I've gained, and it really helps me.  ;D

Also guys, my goal in life is to beat UpperKEES at lease once. . . . .

JK, but I would still like to win 1 tournament  ::)

Oh, and UpperKEES, I'm going to play that map 100 times before I give
the fastest time on that map up.  :D

Heheh! Well, beating me once on a map is very well possible, as I won't spend hours to gain one second. I rather invest it in other maps and gain a full minute there. ;) Winning a tournament is a different story with the current players around, but you never know. I won't be spending much time on it this week, as I will be gone from Friday afternoon to Monday morning, but I'm sure Siccles and hi will be giving you a very hard time and they are much more determined and perfectionist than I ever was. Be prepared to pause a map every single second! ;D

a lot on the other maps though, so I'm hopeful for this tournament.  ;)

My scores, so far. Still having trouble with March 18.

Map   Completion Date          Time   Score
1.   March 18, 1905            5:56   9100

Giving up on improving March 18; no killer instinct, I guess. Can't wait to see Siccles' magic.
Just correcting an addition error.

Not so fast, Colin. Looking at the posted scores, UpperKEES has come home just in time, I suspect, to wipe us all out again. He simply hasn't posted the numbers on the forum. I'm still baffled by the Mar 18 scores. I guess we'll find out soon.

I thought the tournament ended 12:01am Monday nov 8th forum time?  :-X

If it doesn't end then when does it end? maybe I misunderstood the rules, let me go read them again.

QuoteEvery competitor will have until Sunday evening at midnight (forum time*) to set the best scores/times for these 5 maps, all linked together by their common theme, so there's no need to subscribe; just start playing! The winner (best total score) gets to pick a new theme from the list of proposed themes by the community in this topic and publish the dates to be played before Monday evening at midnight (forum time).

To me this says. . . Everyone that wants to participate should post
their scores by Sunday night (11:59PM). Then the winner has another
24 hours to post the next round of maps. (Monday 12:00AM-11:59PM)

Do these tournaments run in 6 7 or 8 day increments. . .  ???

If KEES wins he wins but if this hasn't been clarified before lets clarify it
this week so there is no more confusion, unless I'm the only one confused
at the moment.  ;)

Well, I can't tell from the scores when anyone finished the maps. KEES  might have done them just for fun, after the deadline. Perhaps as an administrator, he can see the times. I don't see that it says you have to post your scores on the forum, so I guess we'll find out when he tallies the scores and reports on the results.

Well I'm looking at the scores on the maps this week, and I see:

1.   March 18, 1905          UpperKEES - 3:29
2.   May 11, 1905             UpperKEES - 3:21
3.   June 30, 1905            UpperKEES - 1:50
4.   August 19, 1905         UpperKEES - 1:49
5.   September 27, 1905    UpperKEES - 2:29

For a total of: 12:58

So I think KEES wins if his scores are validated by him for posting late/not posting.
I think this is really silly, lol, KEES should just come out and say "My scores don't
count" or "My scores count" I don't care, just pick one.  ;)

I think it's up to you. If you like you can post a new topic with a new theme. If you don't you can keep playing Colin's alternative, but I don't like to break with the tradition of a themed tournament.

Ok, I was in a hurry and didn't read all the threads connected with this issue. I'm for the rules as much as the next guy. I'm humbled by this rare opportunity.

I've selected the birth dates of the original Star Trek Crew, and emailed them to UpperKEES. I'll post my solutions as soon as I figure out how. Some will be pretty poor, so I'm hoping the real answers from the really low-time folks (you know who you are).

Can you please post the new tournament topic yourself? It has always been my intention for the winner to do so and now I don't have as much time as usual I think I should leave it up to the winner (or runner up when applicable) to set it up.

When you like to use a table you may want to quote one of the previous tournament posts and use that table as a start, but it's no big deal if you don't. The main advantage of using tables is the ability to format nice columns.

When posting solutions you can just attach up to 5 images to your post (use the reply button and click 'Additional Options'). After posting you can edit your post and refer to attached pictures by using the IMG tags (second icon from the left above the smileys). Quoting a previous solution post will indicate how to do this.

KEES: you actually submitted the scores at the right time.

DST happens in the server down in Texas no matter what country you live in, so technically the scores were posted within the allotted time span, so if my thinking is correct, you won the tourney.

These are my best times. I'm not proud enough of the Mar 18 score to include it.

May 11 was all about how many collectors to use and the timing of moving OC from mid-island to the totem. I used the drone at the last minute to keep the creeper down near the lower totem during the OC flight.

I tried bridging on June 30, but couldn't beat the time, and a bridge where the relays are wouldn't reach (strange).

Bridging might have saved time on the Aug map, too, but it didn't work for me.

On Sep 27, I moved OC to the central island close to the lower totem, bounced the mortar back and forth in the center right to keep the creeper down, then flew it and OC to the totem.

Used Firefox browser and "copy image location" to move the thumbnails to the text. Tried increasing the "attach=number" by 1 to enlarge, but here, the enlarged image was 1 number smaller. In any case, it's finally correct, I hope. Thanks for everyone's help.

On March I used a drone to keep the Creeper back a little,
while I used 4 blasters to advance in on the Creeper.

My strategy for June 30th was to put OC in the Creeper for
the most southern one, but other than that it was the same.

For Aug I used about the same strategy except I used a SAM
to help me bridge to the last totem on the far right.

On September 27th, I used 3 blasters a drone and a SAM,
about the same collector/relay layout though.

Now for May 11th, I used 3 blasters and that was it.  :P

Well, I did click on the thumbnail, enlarged it, opened it in a new window, and copied the url from there to the modified reply. Do you do anything to the screen copy after you capture it in the game, such as change the pixelation or resolution?

Thanks, but being the one who organizes these tournaments I believe I should stick to my own rules. The recorded timestamps are after 0:00:00, so no medal for me this time. Knowing I did set the best times for each map is enough for me. ;)

Well, I did click on the thumbnail, enlarged it, opened it in a new window, and copied the url from there to the modified reply. Do you do anything to the screen copy after you capture it in the game, such as change the pixelation or resolution?

I don't know which browser you use, but in Firefox I use the option 'View image info' and copy its URL from there. Edit: The 'Copy image URL/location' option also works after enlarging the picture. Maybe nice to know the attachment number of the enlarged image is 1 higher than the attachment number of the thumbnail (i.e. attach=1838 for thumbnail, attach=1839 for enlarged image).

You still won the tournament to me, fairly sure you got screwed by the time switch.
