1 - Allow the game's built-in missions and ships to be viewed and edited by their respective editors, please.  The ability to view existing, familiar examples would be a big help for newbies just trying to learn the tools and get started.

For the  ship editor:
2 - Make the edit window bigger.
3 - list all the custom ships on the side of the screen, using the whole length of the screen, like in the ship chooser, instead of in a small paged list.
4 - Add a copy button to allow making a copy of an existing ship
5 - Show relevant stats for current ship design.
5 - Add an undo feature to undo the last edit made
6 - Add ability to edit the HQ and omni designs.
7 - Add more info about what the components do and their stats/performance.
8 - Add ability to edit/modify or create new components.

For the mission editor:
9 -Add mouseover details about what all those options do.
10 - Add a copy button to allow making a copy of an existing map.

1) No point. Can be done already. Just takes 2 extra steps.
2) It's fine. Do you mean so you can make bigger ships?
3) I don't understand what you want
4) Yes. That I can agree with. However, just copy the shipname.dat file into the folder for a direct copy.
5) The relevant stats are available. CM build time & total energy requirements.
5b) Just save your designs often. If you click another ship, it'll ask to either save or undo all changes from last save.
6) HQ ship would be nice. Omni, I don't see the point?
7) This is in the works.
8 ) In the works. you will need to understand PRPL though.

9) From what I understand, in the works. Also, check the wiki and help files.
10) Much like the ships, just copy the folder of the original map

GoodMorning

Also, the wiki is "in the works" for the moment.

1 - What steps do I need to do to edit/view the story missions?  To view/edit the default ships, you have to edit then save them from the fleet chooser.  As a beginner player entering the ship editor for the first time, it's pretty daunting to see a blank box and no examples.
2 - yes, bigger.  In one direction or the other...
3 - The ship editor crams the custom ship list in a small box the same size as the edit window, so you must page through the list since there isn't much room in the box.  On the other hand, in the fleet ship chooser. the custom ships are all listed on the right hand side, in a full screen height list so many more show at once.  So I'm saying make the ship editor more like the custom fleet ship chooser.
5 - I was thinking of stats it doesn't already show, like peak energy drain (per sec) (from all weapons firing),  total energy storage, and energy production (per sec).
6 - I'd presumed that if you could design your own omnis, you could add extra weapons on them.

GoodMorning

For map inspection, see the wiki page.

The ship editor can load stock ships, but it's probably easier to start from the mission editor.

Your custom Omnis will be small "fixed" ship-counterparts at this rate.
