Yep, for this map I had the choice between August 26 and August 27 (see here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deadliest_natural_disasters#Volcanic_eruptions)). Because I think we all agree most Chronom maps are rather easy I picked the hardest one. I hope you don't mind. ;D

You may wish to reconsider. It's a good thing to have both your defensive and offensive force ready before you engage the enemy. Especially in CW it really pays off to manage your energy wisely.Quote from: Mare on September 13, 2010, 10:38:48 PM

In that case you have 3 options:
1. Make it difficult on yourself by playing less effective.
2. Play harder maps.
3. Try to beat a map as fast as possible.
Options 2 & 3 appeal more to me. ;)

Next weeks theme will be: computer(game) inventions. Link will follow soon.
I suggest that if next weeks tournament has the same winner (3 times in a row), the runner up (#2) can pick the theme so themes will come from different people.

Thanks Richie! (You only gave yourself too little points. ;))

Re my score, I took the scores from the results and totalled them in excel. I am 50 points short compared to your total. How did you work that out?

SAMS are cheap. 10 packets to construct I think. Bridging is using an unit "SAM" to connect to otherwise unreachable ground. In UpperKEES first picture look how the SAM is flying over creeper but it is still connected to the network.

What exactly does bridging mean, and why use sams on a non-spore map to bridge?

thank you UpperKEES for the insight to how you think. i guess the next round will be tighter in the scoring area

Thats funny, for krackatoa I moved the city next to the very right totem. I found that little hill next to the city inadequite. :)

I also tried starting at the right side and follow the bottom of my screen. I got exactly the same time (10:14)!

Even though Krakatoa did not kill as many people, it was the bigger of the explosions.
Also after examining the scores for the Krakatoa map, it appears the map reflects the explosion correctly. :)
Nah, the Tambora (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Tambora) was really the biggest explosion as well. Its eruption let to the year without summer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Without_a_Summer).
Yeah I know, I've done all the research. Mount Tambora DID infact explode and it was very tremendous, however, it wasn't the only thing that caused the Year without a Summer. Chains of heavy explosions around the world helped.
I wish I could've lived during the Year Without A Summer; it would've been epic.
Also, if such a thing happened right now... yeah... entire governments would collapse I assume.
