Title: Alpha map glitches
Post by: knucracker on October 24, 2013, 03:22:35 PM
If you have discovered an Alpha sector map that does not seem to operate correctly (invisible enemies for instance), post about it here.  I want to get the maps cleaned up in the next day or so....

I mentioned before in another thread TonyP2000 seems to have a few of these.  Warzone had invisible spores (My beams would be firing at nothing)  And Countdown at the top of the map had some invisible enemies that my nullifer blasted and left behind Power Zones.

And, as was mentioned in another thread, TP's trains weren't tallying correctly.

They now appear to do so, I fixed the map.

I know they couldn't be in the video, but the Gliders on "Aether" can't be shot at by snipers, unlike in the story mission where they also appear.

That's central to custom units - you never know from map to map whether they will behave consistently.

This one makes me sad, because the game mode looks like a LOT of fun.  Seems like you could terp up a set of switches that reduce the # of terps you need, but that might result in a more complicated tree.

In V's new Beta build (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=14505.0), TP's Trains Tutorial is working correctly. (Though, the scores are not, which is a sad thing.)

V said the GUID for the map was too long, you know, 'cause it's like 40 words (kidding :P), but he fixed it.
Title: Still Buggy
Post by: Flamerion on November 02, 2013, 10:12:13 AM
I'm with the version 1.04 but i'm still having the invisible bug in the pit by J.
Also... In Super Tower (the first one) by J my things are being blow up and my snipers are firing at blank, are there invisible enemies too.
When will it be fixed?

In Hoodwink - Tide, some creeper appears as anticreeper, but it still destroy my buildings.

I don't see how that's possible.

It IS normal creeper, but it appears as anticreeper..

I noticed one custom map I played had some CRPL in it which changed the color of the Creeper about 8 minutes in. Perhaps you've got a graphics issue, or maybe there's some strange CRPL on that map. (Although, it looks like a normal one to me.) What I usually do is, I open the menu and manually change the creeper color back to default (or some color of my choice). Maybe that'll help.

If you had given more descriptive detail, attached a screenshot and a save game, maybe, just maybe someone would have been able to investigate further. But with the complete lack of supplementary information, there is nothing that anyone could do.

I'd venture a suggestion based on game mechanics, but it is merely a supposition

1. The anti-creeper was tightly concentrated and one or more cells briefly flipped into creeper.
2. You weer terraforming and landed a unit on partly-terraformed terrain.

G, that map has no Ore or any other means to create AC, except though the Forge's Singularity weapon. And even that would quickly be overrun by normal Creeper.

I have a couple of pictures from there, but I guess it is an graphic issue.

TP's trains 02:  Score doesn't change.  Not sure it's supposed to, it's freeplay, but if there is no way to win, I'll always have a yellow triangle.

I don't believe that map was fixed after the errors were discovered. It might be best if Virgil considers removing it from the sector.

Hunter Seeker - Boss

Anyone else have a problem where the text box that tells you how powerful the creeper is, is positioned in a terrible spot on your screen?
http://imgur.com/qHEJJQe

It's too frustrating to play to have that sitting in the way like that.

We all have hopes and wishes. Some are never fulfilled.  Since Virgil didn't create those maps, Since the map authors of the broken maps don't come here anymore, and since Virgil is starting to think about the next game, this wish of yours seems to remain unfulfilled - except if you open the maps in the map editor and fix them. You could then upload them to Colonial Space, since it's also fairly unlikely that Virgil will release a minor update to the Alpha sector as a new push to all the platforms en environments CW3 is sold in.

Hello.

I'm having a problem with Teknotiss teks008 Point to Point.

I've killed the Inhibitor (I think thats the name of the structure( and as, usual, every emitter, and spore tower died, but the map was not completed, and no "win" screen appeared.

Do I need to do something else?

You need to collect all tech and other collectibles. Is there any of these?

Having problems with TP's Troublesome Trains 02
Score doesn't change at all and trains don't mess anything up. (there are no scores either.
First one works fine however.

Trickydragon also has a broken map "Terror" it's unwinnable. (Still)

Don't know if you're still accepting/fixing bug reports, but I was playing one of the Alpha maps last night (Snowmaker(JM) A river runs through it), and when I fully upgraded weapon range, instead of actually increasing the range, range was reduced to even less than starting range.  I quit pretty much immediately, so if you need more information about the game state, the auto save has it.  Also, when loading the save, the range shows up correctly until the game is actually resumed.
