Never learned how to use THORs... Good players completed an old attempt at a DMD "Snipe Shoot" map long before any THORs came on line let alone reached the target... Hopefully this map really does need THORs to complete... ??? Thanks again to Astra9 for the lessons his #6918 map taught on the power of relays...

NOTE:-  This THOR Snipe Shoot map restricts air power. Hopefully standard attacks are now difficult enough to encourage using a massive THOR attack to win...

It also requires the "Guppy Glitch" to finish.  See Custom Map #8591: Guppy Glitch. By: FatRatKnight

You can do the guppy trick - as explained in this map: https://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=34724.msg200886#msg200886

I liked this map a lot. My first attempt was slightly bold, as I didn't take a proper look at the spore towers. When they said hello, I said good bye to my base.

second attempt was better and it was funny to mass up with Thors. I just don't see where the guppy trick was necessary?

Spoiler
remember - there are many ways to build on an island one can't reach directly. You can use the guppy, but youcan also fly above the island with the CN and build like that. Here you have the singularity and Thors. That combination clears out plenty of space for you, and as there is no Air Exclusion zone on the Inhibitor island, the attack is pretty straight forward.

please don't look at this as criticism, I liked this map a lot!

agreed, no need for guppy tricks, you can do this mission in under 10 just using the top left island, if you use a few guppies to grab aether packs and set up some spore towers on the other islands this is doable in under 5 mins...

fun map though, and those spores were pretty intense, good job oldnewby!

Thank you both for the kind words and advice!... I learned a lot with this map build... Especially to test the final assault defenses early in the Project Editing phase... Rather than finding out too late after all the effort needed to win the map...
Spoiler
I also forgot about defending against the Singularity... Perhaps a lot fewer aether syphons and an extremely small island would allow the creeper to flow back fast enough to decimate a single guppy landing pad... making a THOR attack essential. Just those 7 bombers and a few Kamikaze sprayers also broke the map...

QUESTION...   How does one modify the title in "Projects Edit" to make a second - more challenging - map????

you can switch off singularity in the editor, when you make your map. Then the player won't be able to "shoot" it

Found an answer to my Q.  See...
https://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=vq6nv1krnse7equg05n624h10s&msg=107763
BUT what eventually worked was this:-
Found the old Edit file in:-   PC PC/Documents/Creeperworld3/WorldEditor/THOR Snipe Shoot on Astra... etc.
Then after making a new (Same sized blank) new named map in World editor...
Copied the stuff from the old Edit map file and pasted it into the new named Edit map file...
THEN – Just closed the blank map and ??? I think it worked.... Cause something did...
Because the old Edit starting map magically appeared in the Edit new map file ready for tinkering...

toolforger

No Thors nor singularity needed.

Spoiler
The final island is just within reach of mortars and sprayers from the south (with fully upgraded forge tech, but given the huge amounts in the packs it was trivial to reach that).
That, plus the strafers, was enough to clear the east.
I used guppies to power the units I moved to the clearing, but then found it wasn't actually necessary - a relay on the power zone to the south would connect to a relay on the island, so I just moved the sprayers over and could work the anticreep near enough to the inhibitor to nullify it.
[close]

I had to build ore mines to feed the sprayers as I had spent the ore resource packs before, but it was still enough for the assault.

A strength-500 emitter seems scary at first (I was certainly scared when I saw my first one), but throw enough mortars and strafers at it and it will become manageable.
