Years in the making, and thousands of customers later Creeper World 3 has successfully survived the Thunderdome that is Steam Greenlight!
Now is goes without saying this would not have happened without your vote… yes you, the person reading this post that voted for CW3. I watched the yes votes tally up daily and every single vote matters. The race was very competitive and I can tell you that single votes over the course of a day could make a difference in rankings. So my hat is off to the Creeper Nation… you have astounded me yet again.
Now, my job is to integrate CW3 with the Steam APIs and get her launched!

Achievements, stats, etc. Those all have to be worked out and implemented. But, the work has already begun!

When Creeper World 3 is released on steam, how will it work out for the people who have already purchased the game? For instance:
Will we continue to be able to play the standalone, or will we have to play it on Steam?
Will the game be free on Steam for people who have already purchased Creeper World 3?
Are there going to be any new features added to the Steam version?

Yes, you will be able to play standalone. For anyone not interested in steam, nothing will change for them. Scores, maps, everything will remain the same. This also goes for future customers that wish to purchase directly from my store or from other stores.
If you are already a customer for CW3 and want a steam key, that will become available one the game is up on steam. I will setup a system where you can get a key for steam.
The steam version is planned (I’m working on these things) to support achievements and stats. I may also add a few global leaderboards just for fun. Note that scores will continue to work as they currently do, I just may also add in a leaderboard for say the total score across the story missions. We’ll see, though. Achievements and stats are the main focus,
But what type of stats? Will it be like evermore with how many spores killed, how many blasters built, etc.?
Also, do you mind spoiling an achievement 😉
5 bucks says there is an achievement for beating the main campaign. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I would be willing to gamble on this risky endeavour.
I hope you’re being completely serious. Man, this can only mean good things. Virgil gets a bigger audience, we get cloud saves (right?), AND I get to see how much of my life I’ve spent on it!
