(Upgrader) Blaster

Regular Blaster

If you came here from the base blaster, know that that script is fairly simple. That version deals quite some damage to creeper but only damages a single piece of mesh at a time. Also, it can shoot while moving. That's all there is to that version of the Blaster.

Upgrader Blaster/Disco blaster

The Upgrader Blaster acts a bit like the good old blaster from CW1, which means it deals very small damage but in a big area. It also deals very small amounts of damage in a big area to mesh, which makes it pretty good against mesh in numbers. It can't move, however.

The power of the Upgrader Blaster comes from the fact that is receives a bonus for ANY ERN installed in the ERN portal. Each slot has an unique effect. Alternatively, giving an ERN to this weapon gives a massive range boost aside from the regular power increase of 3-4 times.

ERN effects

Energy efficiency: Reduces the ammo usage by a lot (80%)

Mine Production: Increases damage dealt slightly(25-30%)

Build Speed: Increases damage dealt by 50-75% but also increases ammo cost by 150-200%

Movement Speed: The weapon AOE is increased slighty (25-35%)

Fire Range: Doubles base range

Fire Rate: Increase DPS by 25-50% as it shoots faster (50-100% with ERN)

ERN on Upgrader Blaster: +300% base range (additive with range upgrade), +100% damage (multiplicative) and 50-100% more shots pet second. V2.0 and later versions: Also adds +25% AOE, Creeper Immunity, and passive ammo generation.

Versions

V1.0
Blaster V1.0 only has the energy efficiency, firerate and firerange bonusses implemented.
V1.1
Blaster V1.1 has all ERN portal bonusses. It's pretty strong with all ERN effects active. This is the first “finished” version.
V2.0
Blaster V2.0 adds creeper immunity and passive energy generation if the unit as an ERN. Having an ERN also grants +25% AOE bonus (which is more effective on average with the AOE upgrade). Fixes the energy reduction to be an percentage instead of a flat number.
V2.1

Blaster V2.1 slightly boosts ERN power and base power, as well as numerous balance changes that affect ERN portal effects. Ammo is back to 20 instead of 40 so it won't suck up energy for too long on this version.

Also, the ERN range increase on this unit is now relative to the range it would have without the ERN.

V2.2
The beam now gets a random color of the rainbow when created (instead of always red)
V3.0
Some script changes result in lag reduction, but the unit ceases fire for a short time if no creeper was in range when it tried to fire.
