To commemorate the upcoming release of Creeper World 2, I treat you to a special on some of the events that had an influence here. I encourage everyone who can to participate and guarantee that there are no fool's mates in this week's maps.

MapDateSignificance

1.The last day before the site went live. Would you have been able to bear the wait had you known this game would be coming out soon?
2.The Creeper World map editor was released, sparking a long and prolific era of map-making.
3.The Creeper World Training Simulator is released, bringing Creeper World to the masses.
4.The Creeper World Training Simulator wins the Kongregate Monthly Challenge, renewing interest and extending its lifespan.
5.Micro-Rifts are introduced, serving as the first unit in CW2 not directly implied by generalization to a vertical environment or popular suggestion.

The winner (best total score) gets to pick next weeks theme.
If we have the same winner as last week, the runner up (#2)
will pick the theme.

See here for the rules, an overview of themes and previous
tournaments and the overall ranking.

Please post your progress/total scores in this topic, to ease
calculations at the end of the week.

I can't help but feel shocked at the low participation in this tournament. It seems the Weekly History Tournaments have run their course. Only 2-3 people participate without prodding. Even with such an appealing theme and a lack of the much-hated 'fool's mate' maps, so far only 25 scores have come in. What do you think, is it worth continuing to have these if only a few people are going to play?

We have become the creeper...

Fisherck

I do not think so either. I think there is just too much loss of interest. But I think it is important to listen to the most dedicated players of this tournament if they wish to speak.

Most dedicated players might now focus their attention somewhere else. However, whoever it falls on to make the next tournament may continue to do so until no more people participate?

I figured these would end when CW 2 came out. (Maybe to be replaced by a CW 2 tournament once we've had a couple weeks to beat all the story missions.)  ;)

Congratulations to Fisherck, who may or may not select the next theme and maps. It is your choice.

Fisherck

I would wish to not too, as I am kind of busy. :)

But if someone really wants to keep doing it I will.

I tried to generate the interest, but the thought of slogging thru several more of the same things just didn't do it for me. I'm in favor of calling last week's the last one.

I thank all the dedicated players that made it interesting and taught me much about the game.
