any tips for this map? I can't seam to get all the pods and then make it to the end. if i get the pods I don't have time or energy to build a defence

Why waste time building a defense? Once you save all of the survivors, go straight for the totem.

If you don't want to do that, hover around for a while. The lower right corner will clear itself out at around 2:45.
