Beware! It would be a pretty straightforward job, but there's a Hydra blocking the choke point.

Well, it's nearly brand new, so (I imagine) a single person who dislikes it could tip the average rating pretty far down. Glad you liked it, though!

Is there a sequence to which emitter to kill, after Hydra dies? Or just to keep nullifying the first and best?

Xindaris

I wouldn't say there's a fixed strategy, since the locations of the new heads are randomized. I had pretty good success with just killing whatever was westmost and killable, though. I also wonder if it's possible (or particularly, if it's better) to win this map by using the tiny strip of air-accessible land on the east to kill all the eastern stuff and then surround the hydra before nullifying its first head.

Martin Gronsdal

perfectly possible to surround Hydra, as you can see in the photo. You even can place relays on the PZ to reach past the hydra and keep east sustained.

renelm

.. I can't even survive the first wave of spores,. as I am being swamped in creeper from both left and right, draining my power, trying to keep that under management.. heh...

Not sure if this will help. A screen grab at 4:36.
At this point, I am "surviving".
Winning is still a large question mark.
I placed my CN's differently from Martin and that may be a significant error on my part.

It looks like a recoverable position, although you don't show your energy status (I assume you've just loaded the game).

The ore-islands don't cost anything extra to hold if you can take them, but the thing which will turn that into a comfortable position is plonking a Mortar near the Emitter, and claiming quite a bit of land even before you have that PZ to use.

Your mortars might also benefit from moving a little further forward, they'll do much more damage if you have them firing at a moat.

renelm:
It's a bit of a tight start, and if you have Creeper on both sides when the Spores arrive, you have a problem.
A narrative is a lightly-marked path to another reality.

??
I was just showing renelm a sample of how to survive the first Spore attack.
I had no problem at all taking out everything but the Hydra and opted not to fight the multiple spawns.
But thanks for the suggestions. Nice for you old-timers to help out us new kids on the block.
