Greetings from Rising Star Technologies. While we do not follow a corporate structure, we will attempt to draw approximate equivalences with this in order to facilitate interaction.

While there is considerable obfuscation necessary in our (nominal) "corporate ownership structuring", we have now been able to arrange an unstable link to the GalCorp central messaging server. A specialised self-instance of our "CEO" (placed some time ago) has confirmed that we may now safely begin to interact with your region.

Please note that our risk analysis requires that additional interference may only be made with authority from a major locus. Minor adjustments and tangential services continue to be permitted without consultation, however.

In light of certain developments relating to various AI factions and navigational inconsistencies, Rising Star will no longer be offering direct access to our ship schematics. Our involvement in mapping of your spatiotemporal region is intended to accelerate markedly.

In addition, information regarding your precursor civilisations has enabled us to resume a project which we had abandoned, possibly allowing more direct access to your region. As a precursor to this, we are allowing additional autonomy in actions relating to your region.

Legal analysis indicated that our position remains fragile in your region, largely due to a lack of notional wealth in your currency. We will be taking steps to remedy this, when and if our analysis indicates desirability.

Communication has recently been established with the higher-dimensional race known as the Vitastrae. Rising Star will shortly be accelerating our program of developments within your region, up to and including the possible establishment of a Locus.

However, communication with the Vitastrae has made it clear that we cannot do so in GalCorp controlled space. It has come to our attention that all GalCorp-designed equipment contains subspace logs designed to be able to root any running code, up to and including AI subversion. The Vitastrae were able to silently remove this from the fleet of the Silicon Nomads, but have forsworn further interaction with GalCorp technology. To this end, Rising Star will no longer employ GalCorp technology in any capacity, and has been forced to reverse-engineer the communication module provided. The malware contained therein has been noted.

However, as the corporate structure remains the only significant source of material resources in the region, we request the aid of the Union in order to feed our matter decompilers. We intend threefold facility construction, requiring: firstly, an improved link the the Vitastrae; secondly, an appropriate manufacturing facility; and thirdly, a mass transit link with a Rising Star locus.

The decision to more directly connect with a Locus was not taken lightly, and until this link is completed, we will be vulnerable to various actions by GalCorp, who it is anticipated will not be pleased by our challenging their monopoly on technological construction. However, consultation of various archaic legal documents indicates that we may, in fact, have legal recourse against them for a number of infringements against House Abraxis, the former ruling council, and additional parties with whom our former agreements remain valid. This may, however, cause them to attempt our complete destruction.

Our linkage with a Locus will enable us to bring considerable resources to bear on the current situation, but will undoubtably cause Rift Space distortion in the vicinity, to the point of non-traversability. Efforts to adapt the design of this with the assistance of the Vitastrae are ongoing, and will minimise the disturbance. However, certain patio temporal phenomena will be unavoidable, and additional disturbances will trace a spatiotemporal helix around the link. Additional construction should allow us to decrease the revolution count to the point where travel across this region becomes manageable. This is, however, a necessary consequence of our maintaining severability in the link.
