I will teach them everything I know about the Collective, their weaknesses, and their strategies! I know first hand what those damned machines are capable of... and I will show your people how to tear them apart!
Thank you Observant Cobalt, we could use all the help we can get to fight them.

Placid Flare: Thank you for harbouring us, kind Captain Spaartan. Don't worry, we are not warlike; we only act in self-defense. Do you happen to be in possession of a long-range transmitter? I still have things to discuss with people... elsewhere.
Yes, we do have one and you can use it as much as you like Prismatic.

Nebulous Topaz: Captain, I am but a humble Mineral Harvester, one of several in the Convergence. We would like to join whatever resourcing operations you have ongoing currently. Are you able to accommodate my fellow Harvesters and I?

I don't see why not, we would love all of the help you guys can give, after all, we are still recovering from the T-Mat attack. Your help will be very appreciated, since we do need to fill the hole in hyperdome. Question, do you have any suggestions for making the hyperdome material stronger? I'm sure you know a lot about minerals.

(Sorry, the size bugged out)

Placid Flare: If my knowledge serves me right, I believe the Hyperdomes were built out of hyper-plasteel, an ultra-hard metal only capable of being produced in a Seloi Phase Forge, where normal plasteel is reinforced with hypermatter originating in hyperspace.

Benevolent Emerald: Unfortunately, they were all d-destroyed during the Hydraxil Invasion.

Nebulous Topaz: Hmm. Prismatic, do you think we could modify our crystallite to act as a replacement for the hyper-plasteel?

Placid Flare: You might be onto something, Topaz. Crystallite, the material our ship exteriors are made of, is also incredibly strong, and better yet, can be regrown. If we can get the Starfire to the breach, it should be able to produce enough crystallite to seal it. What do you say, Captain?

Some ships appear and have particulate swarming around them.

Cobalt: We're under attack! Wait, you can defend, right?

*particulate stops spewing out*
*particulate spews out of hyperdome*

I... think you forgot to mention me.

Spaartan: Oh,yes. The Custom Module Creators. They are also our allies and have the ability to control particulate far better than any technology.

Spaartan: Why are you here?

Oh. Brief fly-by.
*supertitan ship flies by*
We're trying to dismantle our entire base to make it movable and able to defend itself better. We plan not to use something that big.
Anyway,

Placid Flare: You might be onto something, Topaz. Crystallite, the material our ship exteriors are made of, is also incredibly strong, and better yet, can be regrown. If we can get the Starfire to the breach, it should be able to produce enough crystallite to seal it. What do you say, Captain?

Crystallite seems very useful.
I have several questions, too.
How fast does it grow?
How much attack can Crystallite take?
Are there any unstable properties of Crystallite?
How easily would it be to take crystallite and grow it on a ship?
Most importantly
Does it follow the laws of physics?
Is it made of matter?
To use [OUR] Custom Modules, go to Forums/Knuckle Cracker/PFE/Map Makers, Ship Builders, and Coders, Go to the pinned posts, find the one named "Custom Modules Thread", Open it, Scroll down until you find ShipModule, Apply that into your map, do not apply it into map if one copy already exists, Apply the Adder script (Sometimes named "Master.prpl, sometimes [shipname]Adder, etc.) and the actual used scripts [which i will state in my posts]. If one copy already exists, do not apply another copy. -The CMC :-)

OOC: cpaca, there is a thread for Crystallid queries at knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=25663.0

OOC: Yes, that is my "everything-Crystallid" thread. However, since the questions can be seen to have been posed as your character, cpaca, I will answer them here this time.

Placid Flare: Greetings, kind Custom Module Creators. You appear to be quite interested in our crystallite... perhaps Topaz would be better to answer your queries. Go ahead, Topaz.

Nebulous Topaz: I guess I'll answer your questions in the order you asked 'em. Let's see...

  • Crystallite can be grown at a fairly fast rate, at nearly fifty standard units per hour. How much is a unit? About 10 microshards... (It's basically fast enough to outfit a fleet of smaller ships in several hours.
  • In terms of attack, I would imagine you would need a comparison to standard plasteel ship hulls. Crystallite is incredibly resistant to energy weapons, though kinetic impacts can cleave the crystalline matrices if struck right. This is mitigated by making sure each shell is made of several crystallite layers, each arranged in different ways to prevent shattering of the shell under fire. Underlying integrity nodes keep the crystallite shells intact during firefights until it can be repaired by a Starfire.
  • There are no instabilities in crystallite and the standard elements it is comprised of. It can be synthesized from a wide variety of elements too, making its production viable in many resourcing situations. That said, changing the standard crystallite composition to incorporate other elements can result in unpredictable properties in the resulting shells.
  • Growing the crystallite and grafting it onto a ship? It is possible, provided you have the necessary integrity nodules also integrated into this ship. However, it can only ever be grown in a Starfire. The Starfire would need to coat this ship in the first place, and if the crystallite ever gets damaged, then you would have to return to the Starfire to get repaired. I can imagine that would be incredibly inconvenient.
  • Of course it follows the laws of physics. Well, that depends on your definitions. Trust me, I can get Emerald to babble on about our definitions of the laws of physics the Convergence has attained over millions of years to you, if you'd like.
  • And yes, it is made of normal matter. Well, mostly. The end result, the crystallite, is infused with psionic energies in order to get the elements to bind and remain perfectly stable.

Nebulous Topaz: Does that answer your questions? Or create more of them? You young species always have so many questions, hah.

Placid Flare: Topaz, we shouldn't talk down to others like that. Neither we nor they can help the mortality of organic races. We were gifted with eternal life, others were not. That has also given us a greater chance for reaching understanding of everything as a species.

Nebulous Topaz: Oh, of course. I'm sorry, Prismatic. I guess I'm much more used to talking to ores than people. I will try to be more mindful of this in the future.

Placid Flare: You recognize your error, which is enough of an apology. CMC, if you feel like you have any more queries, I would be happy to answer them for you.

That is brilliant! I'll show the Starfire to the breach, there might be particulate in that area and we can't risk letting the Starfire get damaged. Good job Topaz!

Do you guys have any specific plans for the Crystalid/Falcon interaction?

Because I have an idea involving a certain female GalCorp Commander that helped save the Renegades alongside the Judicator :P

Message reads:
QuoteDear friends at the Rising Star, this is Prismatic Flare. Do not be alarmed by the change in signal; we have found refuge with another faction for the time being, and they were kind enough to allow me to use their long-range transmitter.

I would like to discuss the message you gave me. Solar Envy is the only other soul in the Convergence enigmatic enough to say that... and I assumed he was dead. This is clearly not so. He used his body as a Rift Energy catalyst, acting like a Totem. Could it be possible that instead of him being consumed by the Rift, it forced him into another dimensional plane?

And could we rescue him?

QuoteHe used his body as a Rift Energy catalyst, acting like a Totem. Could it be possible that instead of him being consumed by the Rift, it forced him into another dimensional plane?

And could we rescue him?

I'm going to draw some connections to this event and the T-Mat's Catalyst Scythe. (I was reminded of that when you used the words "Rift Energy catalyst")

In the T-Mat Attack RP, the Catalyst Scythe we saw in use was only charged to 30% (despite what I typed in it, that was a mistake) to cause the Inhibitor effect. It may seem like an Inhibitor in the Overworld but, in reality, what's happening is that the Catalyst Scythe sends a charge into Rift Space to actually destroy that section of Rift Space (Remember the Rift Space Cataclysm mentioned in Creeper World 3? Catalyst Scythe.) The Scythe then collects the Aether of the destroyed section and fashions it into a weapon, before the section of Rift Space repairs itself.

A Catalyst Scythe charged to 75% will cause the Totem like destruction that Solar Envy did. In short, Envy may have used his own body to create a low level Catalyst Scythe.

A fully charged Scythe doesn't just destroy things, it completely deconstructs the affected area into Aether, further fuelling the effect and making it even stronger.

I can change the last part to make it so that it sends things into the destroyed part of Rift Space, which then deconstructs them as well. Solar Envy, being a Crystalid and thus having the mark of Platius, could possibly survive in a destroyed Rift Space with a personal 'universe bubble' or something. :P

Thoughts?

Benevolent Emerald: P-Prismatic, we are being t-targeted by long-range missile weaponry!

Placid Flare: Cobalt?

Observant Cobalt: I will handle this. I'll make sure they won't threaten us anymore!

Nebulous Topaz: The younglings have all retreated into the Starfire... I think I'll just go and join them.

Placid Flare: Captain Spaartan, please gather your available forces behind Cobalt. I have a feeling he'll need some help once he-

Observant Cobalt: I have had ENOUGH of you, GalCorp! Let me show you the true power of our race!

Placid Flare: ...does that. Warriors of the Convergence, hold fast beside your Commander. I will remain by the Starfire.

I will PM you about Envy's fate, DA. To keep spoilers to a minimum, you understand.

Still haven't done anything since I asked the questions earlier.
You can say i've been examining Spaartan's ship designs and potentially Crystallid ship design.
As to why my ships weren't detected by Dark Ambition...
Don't know. Could have been that the ships are swarming with nanobots [nanobots, no rendering or picturemaking needed, yay] to make sure particles are spawning correctly and such and so could have been called off as part of the base or just a swarm of nanobots doing something else, but I'm not sure. No special cloaking, either.

Back to my ships. They're going to defend too if they attack Falcon Renegades,
I brought 2 GrabberG2's and 1 GrabberG3 with me.

If you want to make a battle involving my ships, you need 1 PRPL core with ShipModule, 1 PRPL core with GrabberG2 adder, 1 PRPL core with GrabberG3 adder, 2 ships named GrabberG2 [1 copy is attached, just spawn 2] and 1 ship named GrabberG3 [GrabberG3 is attached]

This last bit is not required, but it's what makes it render. the Custom0 on the 128x128 pictures [Custom0_128, for programming] is PassiveEmitterModule.png
If you want to change that,  go into PassiveParticleMaker.prpl, the 4th line is the image setter to Custom0_128. Change that to something like Custom1_128 or whatever you want [just needs to be a 128x128 picture]

I forgot to say this in the other post.

Because this could possibly affect the Crystalids story, i'm basically giving control of Alissa to you, Decagon. All I did was provide the scenario, and this is likely the end of my involvement.

Something to keep in mind, Alissa's orders are to go after the Crystalids. She doesn't necessarily see the Renegades as a threat (She's not as heartless as most of GalCorp. She's one of the Judicator's subordinates, which means she is a defender, and prefers defending. She doesn't like being the attacker.)

I kinda forgot that they were here XD

Still though, that wouldn't matter. GalCorp likely did detect the ships, but didn't care. They already have Particulate control technology, but prefer using individual emitters rather than ship modules.

Aha, gotcha. I wouldn't be opposed to your involvement in this, but I appreciate that you give me control anyway. I'll try my best to keep Alissa to that too. And to be honest, Cobalt will give her no choice but to defend. ;)

The Renegades could just play a minor part in the engagement, in the event they don't simply want to sit idly by and watch GalCorp attack their new friends, maybe just working to defend the Starfire from flanking forces.
