Just noticed something...
« on: October 09, 2016, 07:20:45 am »
So I'm replaying the original Creeper World, and I just noticed something...
This

looks very similar to this.

That resemblance wouldn't happen to be deliberate, would it?  8)

  • The Caveman. Since 1989. Often imitated.

Nice spotting!

Everything that has happened has happened before, and will again.

Maybe not this time around, but soon maybe.

Or long ago.

Life will imitate art, art will imitate life, art wil immitate... art...?
Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

Art imitating art imitating life? Different art, same life? Bizarre coincidence?

Origin story?

It does seem too similar to be entirely coincidental.
A narrative is a lightly-marked path to another reality.

SG-1 and SGA were awesome.  SGU was canceled way before its time.  I could have done with one less (or five less) sharknados and another season of SG-U...

I could have done with no seasons of SGU and more SGA, to be honest.  SGU wasn't really a Stargate show.  It was Lost in Space on an Ancient warship.

Just for a definitive settlement:

[...]
Oh yeah, I should also add that Odin City was inspired by Stargate Atlantis and the general doom and gloom of the story was of course inspired by BSG.  The visuals for the Rift are loosely inspired by the 'Machine' in Contact.  The totem activation sequence is loosely inspired by the Death Star firing sequence as well as the Excalibur main weapon firing in Babylon 5 Crusade.
