Please take care to copy/paste the map names from here. There are extra spaces between some of the first and last names.

Have some fun (they aren't too complicated) and holler for help if you need it.

GRRR!
That darn Inspector Cramer has always been frustrating.

Posting the scores as of right now and taking the rest of the night off.
Have some fun (and beat on Cramer).

11 players with 36 scores...a slow week.

I've seen MadMurphy around a lot, but not 'dhc'. Glad you both joined in.

Thanks - happy to be here.  I've been playing the Creeper World games for a little over a year, but I'm pretty slow as you can see.  I wanted to try something new while waiting for CW3 to come out.

@dhc - Feel free to ask for advice/suggestions. We have players with a wide variety of skill levels and most are glad to pitch in and help if someone asks.

Well, since you offered...

I know that there are some things that I can't do a whole lot about (like my old hardware).  The optimum screen size for CW on my computer is 800x640, so if I want to play full-screen I have to set the speed control to high in order for things to seem (at least somewhat) responsive.  The drawback there is that any wasted motion or hesitation is magnified.  I apparently don't pause the game enough either.

I think the biggest struggle that I have strategy-wise (besides overbuilding) is dealing with those holes in the top layer with drones spilling out (like we have in Inspector Cramer's map).  It took several tries and eventually 16+ minutes of game time to take out that first emitter.  Maybe someone can post a screenshot at the end of the week showing how its done.

Hunter Seeker

So I gave Inspector Cramer a few goes to get some good shots.  This is a good start for me but based on ea's time i bet there is a way to do better than this.  This should give you a good idea on how to start using shields to hold back the drones for the first minute before you get a blaster up.
Aspire to Inspire

ctuna

I started this way - barely had enough time to collect the red gem: It avoided the drones long enough to establish reactors that sustained a push into the first mitter and drone gateway. I tried the shields, but found I ended up having to build the blasters anyway, and the shields were redundant - depends on the time and energy available in the short term.

ea3401

I think that this is a good start on Inspector Cramer.

I appreciate everyone taking the time to produce these screen shots.  I originally tried digging to the red gem like ctuna but the field always shifted before I could get to it.  I think I finally ended up using the shields like Hunter Seeker did.  I wondered about attacking the emitter from the rear but I was concerned about opening up another hole for the drones when I couldn't even defend the first one.

Very helpful - thanks again.

MadMurphy

I just noticed I did a couple on the wrong size and complexity.

Everyone who has NOT done that before, please raise your hands.
Just think of it as practice for the real deal.

Least I can say I posted a top time for one of the boards this week ;)

Can't say the score for that run was impressive though.
